Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainOur deluxe double room on the main façade was not well soundproofed, and there’s a main road in front of the hotel (we didn’t know that). But the views are 110% worth it – just make sure to bring earplugs!
The views are absolutely amazing from the pool, restaurant, and the room (see our the picture) The staff are kind and friendly, especially Youssef – a big shout-out to him for being so kind and helpful. The breakfast is good, buffet-style, with a bit of everything. The pool is great – clean and with perfect views. Nice location with restaurants and services nearby.

FranceThe pool is lovely but small and two evenings we couldn’t use it as a group of teenagers had taken it over as well as the hotel’s music system to play their music.
The hotel is located close to the pyramids and the new Grand Museum of Egypt. The view of the pyramids from the terrace is perfect. Staff were polite and always happy to help. The terrace bar serves hot and cold soft drinks at a reasonable price. Breakfast offered a lot of choice and was good. We ate in the restaurant one evening. The food was good but prices are elevated. The staff were happy for us to have food delivered by talibat though and we did that two nights and ate it on the terrace. Rooms are comfortable and spacious with air-con.

United KingdomOmar the manager was very attentive even before check in, continuously making sure we were ok. The view was beautiful, you can see the pyramids from the balcony. Local shops which stock cold drinks and snacks and street food close by. Rooftop pool with pyramid view was lovely. Very helpful staff. Close to the new Grand Egyptian museum and extremely easy to get taxis or in drive from in front of the hotel. Would definitely recommend.

I have booked several accommodations for my clients in Cairo, but pyramid Yard hotel stands out for its exceptional customer service. Omar, in particular, was truly outstanding- one of the most amazing individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting. He was incredibly helpful, remarkably kind, thoughtful, patient, and attentive. His warm and professional approach made my guests feel genuinely valued and happy. A heartfelt thank you to Omar for going above and beyond. My clients couldn't stop talking about the breathtaking views and the generous breakfast spread. without a doubt, this will be the only hotel i book for my clients moving forward. i highly recommend it.

United KingdomThe area is not safe. We attempted breakfast once out of 8 days, and it was unpleasant. We never had breakfast again, even though it was free. We arrived at 2am in the morning, l wanted access to our room but first we had to listen to all the trips available and were then shown various rooms, our room last. Trying to sell us upgrades at 2am. We did pay the upgrade for the view and balcony. I wish we hadnt, the air conditioning unit dripped water on the single bed every night. It was reported, attempted to fix it, but wasn't fixed. We realised we were stuck with it, so we moved the bed, but the water from it smelt. The shower sealant is damaged, and after even a quick shower, the bathroom floor was covered in water. It was a nightmare. I asked for clean towels every day, and the 1st day was changed. Then l had to pester to have them changed, then on day 6 l was told that l had to leave the key in order to get the room cleaned or towels changed, this was never told to me and the towels were changed the 1st day so that made no sense. We were brought towels twice out of 8 days. Upon arrival, we also had to ask for a towel and a cup as the 3-person room was set up for 2 people only. The trips were ok but there was a hard sale to them which was unpleasant. The water went on our last night, and we couldn't shower. The electricity went on our last day.
The staff were very kind and very helpful. We paid to have a driver collect us at the airport who patiently waited for us. The trips arranged, whilst pricier that normal were good in the regards that we felt safer than not having a guide. Whilst the view from our room was exceptional this was purely due to us paying for an upgrade. Shops close by and a very delicious excellent priced restaurant a few doors down.
