How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Safir is a quiet haven in the middle of a noisy, bustling area of Cairo. The decor and furniture is opulent yet homely. The breakfast buffet was incredibly varied and delicious. There was an equally delicious dinner buffet in the evenings. The staff were incredibly kind. There's a lovely pool with lots of sun beds. And recommend! Thank you everyone.

In the room there wasn’t a menu for room service available. That’s the only issue otherwise everything was wonderful.
Very clean wonderful location near all the things that I wanted to do. I felt very safe in the hotel as a solo female traveller.

There seems to be a communication gap. The staff at the front desk could not communicate in good English which was a bit frustrating for me
I liked the location and serene environment. The lobby was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers which gave the hotel a welcoming aura

recently stayed at your hotel, and overall, I had a pleasant experience, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. I would like to extend my special thanks and appreciation to Ms. Rana from the Housekeeping Department. She was professional, attentive, and ensured that my room was always clean and organized. Her efforts truly made my stay more enjoyable, and I am grateful for her excellent service. At the same time, I have shared a few observations and suggestions with the hotel management for further improvement. I trust that the team will consider them to enhance the guest experience even more. I also want to sincerely thank the Customer Service team, especially Ms. Nada, for their excellent support and responsiveness. They showed great care in addressing guests’ feedback and observations, which reflects the hotel’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Maybe some more smalltalk at the reception or open conversation. Missed a connection with the people from the reception when I checked in, out or had a few questions. Missing the personal touch.

The rooms are not to a 5 stars standards ,curtains need a bit of attention and the bathrooms need a bit of deep cleaning.
The breakfast was amazing. The house keepers were so nice and helpful. Special mention to the The reception and staff lobby were a combination of pleasant and friendly sometimes although it would have been better if they were always smiling.

My stay at this hotel was excellent by all standards! I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful work, especially Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, the receptionist, who was extremely professional and courteous and facilitated our check-in process with ease. I also want to thank Ms. Hajar, the concierge, who was very helpful and ensured our comfort throughout our stay. The room was clean, tidy, and excellent, and the location was great.
