We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The most beautiful apartment with an incredible view of the banana plantations. We were only in Luxor for two days and on the day second day, explored West Bank, which was incredibly easy given the location of this apartment. The ferry to cross to the east bank was only a 6-8mins walk away so it was super accessible. Mohamed was exceptionally hospitable and he made us feel very safe and comfortable. He is full of integrity and honesty and was always responsive. Given the location of this apartment, I would recommend arriving during the day to acclimatise to the surrounding area as it can get quiet during the evenings/night.

Lovely apartment which was cool, spacious and beautifully decorated. The terrace with a view over the fields was amazing and it felt so far from the hustle and bustle of the river front but was only a 10 minute walk away. It was easy to get a taxi from here to the Valley of the Kings or get a boat across the river to the East Bank. There were plenty of restaurants on the main strip by the river. The host was extremely responsive via whatsapp and very helpfully offered for us to check in early in the morning since we were already in Luxor and had small children with us.

ArgentinaI would recommend arriving to the flat during the day if possible, as it can be a bit hard to find for taxi drivers and if it's your first time in Egypt the surroundings can feel a bit scary. The more the days passed by we actually realised it was a beautiful and super calm neighbourhood though.
Our stay at Dar Lina Guesthouse was absolutely fantastic. The facilities were great and the flat is fully equipped with anything you could need. We had the flat on the ground floor and it came with a beautiful garden, two rooms, a living room with TV, two bathrooms and kitchen. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the fact that there is a washing machine, which is a great asset when walking around in dusty and hot Luxor. I think this flat is perfect for a family or even a group of friends, and even though there are nice hotels on the other side of the Nile, we really appreciated being in a neighbourhood that felt authentic, for instance, only a few minutes away from the flat there is a banana field that is absolutely beautiful. Finally, the flat is 5min away from a main street with little shops to buy food, etc and a 10min walk will take you to the ferry that crosses the Nile. The flat is also perfectly located if you plan on visiting the Valley of Kings, as it's only 15/20min by car.

Spainhe place to stay in Luxor! We’re a family of 5 (3 young kids) from Spain and stayed here for 2 nights. We absolutely loved it. Beautiful property with incredibly clean, modern and spacious apartments. We had a lovely patio to sit out in, which abutted banana fields. The owners are wonderful and offer incredible hospitality. They connected us with local drivers and gave us recommendations outside of the typical tourist visits. We also really loved the neighborhood. From getting fresh bread in a nearby store to saying hi to all the friendly neighbors, it was the best experience!! Many thanks again to the kind hosts.

United KingdomNothing - our stay was faultless.
Dar Lina is a beautifully spacious apartment in a quiet neighbourhood on the Nile's west bank at Luxor. Our hosts Mohamed and Marion could not have been more friendly and hospitable. If you are lucky you will be served a delicious Egyptian breakfast. We are already planning our next visit in Nov 2025.

ChinaWe stayed at this beautiful guesthouse on the West Bank of Luxor, and it was by far the BEST accommodation we experienced during our Egypt trip. Despite its location in a quiet village, the apartment exceeded expectations with its modern appliances, spacious layout, and stunning balcony views with such an affordable price. It was perfect for our group of 5 girls, offering both privacy and a strong sense of security. The location is also ideal for hot air balloon rides and temple visits. We were lucky to stay when the host's family was present, and their hospitality was one of the highlights of our trip. Communication in English was very smooth, and they were always ready to help with our itinerary, offering valuable advice, like tips on taking a felucca on the Nile. Their warm hospitality made our stay truly unique and enriching, as they even took the time to show us around the village, adding a special touch to our experience. We also faced a minor issue with our driver before heading to the airport, but the host’s family stepped in to resolve it quickly, making us feel supported the whole time. The surrounding village is very friendly, with nearby cafes and shops where we found great souvenirs at very reasonable prices. Overall, this stay far exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend this guesthouse.

CanadaAll was well.
Our second floor apartment was spacious, lovely and clean. We enjoyed the very private terrace with its countryside view. Hamada organized a comprehensive tour plan and excellent guide for Luxor’s east and west banks. Our driver, Saaed, helped us out in many ways. We felt very well taken care of and completely enjoyed our stay. Hopefully, we will get a chance to return to the SaRa Guesthouse !!

SpainLike in most place in Egypt, the street is nos asphalted, so the atmosphere can get quite sandy/dusty.
Sara guesthouse is a fantastic, relaxed place to spend some time in Luxor. We absolutely enjoyed the house, the terrace, the area. And the host was super nice and attentive. Close by there is a restaurant, The Sunflower Guesthouse, which gave us some of the best food we have had in Egypt, and very friendly people. Fantastic.

AustraliaThere were some kitchen supplies that would have been useful like a range of teas and bottled water. The bed sheets need replacing, the cotton is worn and rough.
Quiet location overlooking Banana plantation. Plenty of space. The out-of-the-way spot gives you a chance to see some of the back streets of West Bank Luxor and a glimpse of ordinary Egyptian life.

Polandwe did not realized it was 10 min to ferry and then 5 min on the ferry to get to the east side of the city, where all the things are. the bonus was when we where picked up for the hot air baloon trip we had extra 30 min sleep in the morning as the valley of kings and all the important sighseeing location are on the west bank, but if you are looking for a good choice of restaurants then you need East Side.
spacious apartment with a nice garden in the back - so perfect to drink your morning coffee.

South AfricaThe location was most wonderful, in a quiet residential area with some sounds of neighbourhood life during the day to make one feel at home. It is walking distance to shops (delicious fresh bread bakery!) and restaurants, the cheap ferry to the east bank, and the magical Nile. The apartment was aesthetically pleasing, spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. There were no mosquitos in autumn, but for summer, the windows have mosquito screens so they can be open and breezy without letting mozzies in. The hosts arranged a driver for me, and Said was professional and interesting to talk to, and gave me some great tips about off-the-beaten track sites to see -- ask him!
