How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe accommodation was excellent, clean and tidy. Since there was only one room for rent on the second floor, I was not affected by others. The host is a very warm-hearted person who provided me with a lot of help and advice. When I was leaving, she even gave me a bag of dates grown in her garden, which were very sweet.
Upon taking a shower, I realized there was no hot water. After some exploration, I discovered that the water heater hadn't been plugged in. I suggest turning it on immediately upon check-in, otherwise, you'll have to take cold showers at night. Since there is only one room for rent, if you have nowhere to go after checking out and wish to stay, you can only rest in the garden on the first floor. If the living room on the second floor, that would be much better.
Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed it, regarding the water heater you just had to turn it on , there’s no plug but I’ll include it in the guidebook… Thank you again and hope you come back soon!

Verified reviewExcellent all. The location, the silence, the guide who also takes care of the property, the facilities, the price, my communication with the owner, everything was perfect
Maybe for some people is a bit far from downtown but personally I loved the isolation into the palm trees

Verified reviewI recently had the pleasure of staying at Siwa Spot. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The building's aesthetic charm added to the overall experience, and the spacious interior provided ample room to relax. Having the ability to cook in the well-equipped kitchen was a definite plus, and the facilities exceeded expectations. If I ever come back in the future I will definitely stay here again!
Nothing, this place is such a hidden gem.
Thank you so much for your kind words!!🙏

Verified reviewThe place was fantastic. Kitchen/dining/lounge area was outside with roof over and fully covered by mosquito nets giving respite from the insects. Large garden with lots of seating options and an excellent gardener who also drove us around when we needed. All attractions very much nearby. Nice 25 min walk to town if we chose to do that. It was quiet and entirely private which we loved.
We just had to work out the logistics of getting food, especially dinner when we first arrived and the breakfasts, but the restaurants do takeaway so we just got our breakfasts the night before, so it worked out. It just took us some time to work it out. And I think some restaurants deliver, but we didnt try it.

Verified reviewParadise in the oasis. It is hard to imagine how the homeowner created this castle in the dreamy jujube forest. Air conditioning, gardens, semi -open -air restaurants and kitchens, ice drinking water everyday, super large bathrooms, super -intimate housekeepers ... each is the top experience in Xiwa.
The network is not very good, let's put down electronic products.

Verified reviewA beautiful place with a very distinctive architectural style and an open space of trees and plantings. A very different experience, especially in the hospitality, cleanliness and arrangement of the place, and the presence of all the basics in the place with a large number of equipment that makes the experience very suitable for the local coexistence of the place.
The place is a bit far from the city center, but this will not be a big problem if you have your own car
Thank you so much for your courtesy.. I really appreciate it!! You were an awesome guest and please consider Siwa Spot your home whenever you come to Siwa..

Verified reviewThe host contacted us pretty in advance to inform us about everything needed. As the location is aprox. 5km away from the center, he had the guy to pick us up when from the bus station to Siwa Spot. The whole experience was simply perfect: the place is super nice & quite, fully equiped with everything necessary: heater as it was January and quite cold in the nights, towels, bed sheets and blankets, hot water, hair dryer and a kitchen to have your own meals prepared.. all surronded by palms and a silence atmosphere that will allow you to completely disconnect from your daily routine. However, the best part was our connection with the manager, who even not speaking English (and us not speaking Arabic), was able to take us to anywhere nearby in his "tuk-tuk", help us in everything needed and took us to amazing places we haven't heard about. Kola made our stay in Siwa even better that expected and it felt just like home the 2 days spent in there. If you're hesitating about where to go.. this is THE place :)
We honestly cannot say a "bad" word about Siwa Spot. Even with the only "problem" we had -that was totally our fault-, the owner and the manager made us feel super good and solved the problem quickly and efficiently. By mistake, we forgot the key outside and we closed the door from the inside, so we couldn't get out of our room. However and as explained, it took very little to have this solved and even the manager offered us to extend our stay 1 more night with no cost, which we couldn't because of our times & flights... but definitely we'd have spent some more days in there!

Verified reviewLovely, gem of a property....such kind and helpful hosts in Hoda & Hamza and Kola the caretaker! Excellent facilities..modern, yet a very traditional Siwa house, with spacious grounds....tastefully and traditionally decorated seating area and bedroom, bathroom has a geyser for as much hot water as required...and a well equipped kitchen...so, yes if you are looking for a classy, peaceful, quiet place to stay in Siwa, this has to be right up there...a word on Hoda & Hamza....throughout our Egypt trip, they provided us information, even called a taxi operator and a 4WD tour operator on our behalf (due to the language issue) to finalise some aspects of our trip...all in all, we left Egypt thinking how kind and thoughtful people in Egypt are and its in no small measure due to Hoda & Hamza...

Verified reviewBeautiful location! The owners thought about everything and provided all that was needed. beautiful location and quiet with good TV connection and wifi. The garden is very nice to sit in and lovely. The worker is also very friendly and helpful.
A good suggestion is to have maybe a little tabletop refrigerator.
