Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GreeceThe location is excellent! The hotel is very clean and the beds are comfortable. We didn't have breakfast in our reservation so I don't know what it is like. We arrived late at night and the guy at the reception was very helpful, unfortunately I can't remember his name but he helped us a lot with everything we asked him. If we visit Cairo again, we will definitely stay there.

TurkeyThe only thing I don't like is the entrance to the apartment where the hotel is located. But it's quite reasonable for the price.
The hotel is on the upper floors of an apartment building, very clean, quiet and safe. The staff is attentive and friendly. It is a hotel I can stay at again.

TunisiaNothing, actually, at the beginning when I saw the building, a bit old I said omg, it might be a scam, but once I entered there and I saw the rooms I felt relieved and I really liked it. Definitely recommend it and I will always stay there whenever I go to Cairo.
Clean, comfortable and the location was amazing! Nearby Talaat harb and Tahrir square 5min walk. Accessible and you don’t get lost, it’s just right to the National Bank of Egypt ( the new building) sherif st. The staff were super nice, young, and energetic, super friendly ! Especially Ibrahim the guy whom I had most interaction with! He is so welcoming and helpful and he was treating us very nicely and whenever we needed help he was always there for us🫶🏻

NetherlandsThe building is old, but what to expect for downtown Cairo. Cleaning and refill only on request. The room has a fresh painting smell, which I believe was because of recent renovation.
This is the review for my second stay. Centrally located. Next to the bank building that gets secured all day. The rooms were on the side street, so not that loud. Very friendly employees. Did not bother us at all for selling extra activities. Airco and fridge. Hard mattress, which I prefer. Had a balcony.

NetherlandsWiFi was not that strong. Clean up the room only on request.
After I spend hours and hours searching in Booking reviews from different hotels, we booked this one. We had a great time staying there without issues. I gave a call in advance to confirm the late check in and they answered the phone and confirmed that there is 24h reception. We got a twin room at the end as we were 2 friends, but it was fine as the room was on a side alley and you don’t hear much of the traffic. The reception is on 3rd floor. The room we got was on 4th with a balcony. Same photos as in booking. Renovated room. They did not bother us at all selling tours and everyone was super friendly. Airco and fridge works perfectly. In downtown was very easy to walk around. We had no issue. At the end I made an additional reservation for 3 extra nights.

TurkeyThe only thing that I did not really like was the fact that you could hear others in their rooms, the space underneath the door was open which made it easer for the sound to come in.
In general, I liked my stay in Sky Light Hotel, the property was in the center of the city which made it easer for me to walk to most of the places and also use the Metro to move around. The staff were very friendly "huge thanks to Ibrahim, Amal and Fatima for their friendliness and hospitality. special thanks for Mr. Said who provided recommendations on attractions and his Arabic coffee offer.

AustraliaMaybe a sign on the ground floor to say to go up to the 3rd floor for reception. Other than that there was nothing I didn't like
This hotel was perfect for my stay in Cairo. It was in a great part of the city with lots of things within walking distance. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The shower had good water pressure and stayed hot the whole time.

My stay at Skylight Hotel in Cairo was absolutely exceptional! From the moment I arrived until the day I left, everything was perfect. The hotel is spotlessly clean, well-organized, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you might need. What truly made my experience unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality of the staff — especially Ibrahim and Haneen. Their kindness, professionalism, and warm attitude made me feel completely at home. It’s rare to find such genuine and caring service. I highly recommend this hotel, whether you’re visiting for business or leisure. I’m definitely planning to return soon. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team, and especially to Ibrahim and Haneen — you are truly the heart of Skylight Hotel!
