Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location is ideal. Aswan can be quite noisy and busy but Elephatine Island is a paradise of peace. The place is great and the host were wonderful, meeting us at the jetty and providing nice local advice.

We stayed in a large, comfortable apartment. Eslam was very kind. Since our flight was late, they picked us up in a taxi and then were waiting for a boat to take us to the hotel. She recommended a place to have breakfast and explained transportation options... It's a good option if you like to blend in with the surroundings.

MalaysiaThe room was a little dirty on the linen and floor. The wardrobe was full of other stuff which we couldn’t use to hang our clothes. Please also put up your guest house name as we weren’t able to know that we have arrived at the correct place for the first time.
I was lucky enough to get the whole floor for ourselves. So everything in the common area was used as part of our home. There’s a shared washing machine too so we washed our clothes there after a few days of traveling. The boat transfer costs 10EGP per trip for foreigners and the boatmen are quite honest. They do provide change instead of keeping it as tips in most of the country

TurkeyNothing everything was perfect.
The property is on the Island in Aswan, just a 3 minute walk from the public ferry. The guesthouse is clean in every aspect. Islam the Manager is definitely doing a great job. He is taking care of his guests, has a positive attitude which makes you feel good which you miss in Egypt. We booked one tour and one transfer from him which after checking with other travelers had a fair price. Dear Islam thank you again for the lovely evening on the boat, the tour and good to know that not all people in Egypt even they are in the tourism business do not see travelers as walking dollars 🙏🏻 Not to forget if you have a big luggage and do not want to carry the 3 minute walk, help is always there.

Czech RepublicI didn’t probably read the information clearly, because i didn’t know that one room is occupied by another people and the place is “shared”. It was ok and nothing wrong, but just count with it.

MalaysiaThe hotel boasts a very comfortable bed and is exceptionally clean, situated in the heart of a unique village. There's a good restaurant nearby. Most importantly, the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. They even assisted in booking a trip to Abu Simbel temple at very reasonable prices. I'll definitely return to stay here again.

IndiaNothing per se - probably not the best fit if you want to stay in Aswan city and not Elephantine island. Because you'' have to take a ferry each time you get out. But we loved the experience! :)
The host - Eslam - was a gem of a guy! made sure every request was met and took care of us like Royalty. Also helped us in booking trips nearby at decent rates. The kitchen at the property also helped!

TurkeyThere is a nice balcony but unfortunately no view. Shower water can come inside of the room if there is no mop at the door (but this is quite common in egypt) so there is really nothing unpleasant.
Very near to port and quiet place. Mahmoud welcomed us and we spent a night there. Place is chill and quiet. There is a common kitchen and sitting/ possible working space. Very good wifi. Clean room and bathroom. Recommmended!

Chinathe seconddoubleroom is so tiny that youwon't even be able to put a suitcase on the floor, literally just 30 cm space to walk through, you'dhave to put allyourluggagein the living room. at night 3 am someone startedarguingand shouting in the locallanguage for about 15 minutes. towels were not made of cotton but some kind of polyester. they don't use duvet covers, and i believe the duvets neverget cleaned (they won't fit into the large 6kg washing machine) BUT there are a few extra clean polyester bed sheets that we put under the duvets, so that was OK. the cupboards were very dusty inside. there's onlyone phone we took of the road to the house, that'sthe biggestroad on the island, completely unpaved and super dusty
Mahmoud was very helpful, i travelled wit my wife, 5 year old son and 65-68 years old parentsin law, we didn'teven have to ask but he carried 1 of our suitcases all the way from the ferry to the house. the pick up was necessary because you won't be able to find the place after sundown. living in a genuine nubian village was interesting. internet was brilliant. brilliant washing machine, literally a life saving devices BUT there's no where to hang the laundry, no string, no drying rack. having a fridge and water kettle was nice. 10 pound charge for the ferry seems a little much for a 5 minute ride when you can rent a big sailboats that sits 10 for 1 hour for 200 or a motorboat that sits 30 for 1 hour for 300 pounds real prices we paid), BUT if you go.to.king jamaica restaurant for a meal then you get a free ferry ride (KFC pier)

NetherlandsBathroom smelled a bit bad, and water would easily flow into the room when showering (had to use the swiper a lot). Offering big towels instead of 2 small ones would have been better. Wifi did not work at all.
Very clean guest house, host is very kind, island is very beautiful and it’s nice to discover it around. Even a hair drier which I had a hard time finding in hotels in Egypt.

FranceThe kitchen is lacking a good knife, a bigger saucepan with a handler, also a bigger frying pan maybe? some glass conteners for the microwave for us tourists who like to cook ;-) but we did mention it to the owner.
Mohamed and his cousin were very helpful (thank you WhatsApp!), always trying to make us feel at home. The guesthome was empty at that time (2 more rooms) so we pretty much had the kitchen and living room all for ourselves : after a buzy day in Aswan, it was all we needed :-). The place has been re modeled 1 year ago so it is in good shape :-)!
