How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I recently stayed here and overall, I had a mixed experience. First, the positives: the pools are very nice, and the property is spacious for long walks. However, there were several issues that made my stay uncomfortable. There is no free Wi-Fi – you are required to pay $6 per day for one device or $9 per day for two devices, which feels unreasonable for a hotel of this level. A very concerning incident happened with housekeeping (Mahmoud Yehia). He entered my room while I was sleeping, claiming he knocked three times and shouted “housekeeping.” I did not hear anything, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with someone entering my room uninvited. When I reported this to reception, they blamed me for not putting the “Do Not Disturb” sign. I also raised the issue with Ahmed, the housekeeping manager, but he was not helpful. David, the assistant front office manager, kept insisting that it was my fault for not putting the DND sign and that “this is the standard,” which was dismissive and unprofessional. Additionally, during dinner and throughout my stay, I noticed staff being unnecessarily tough with guests. They assumed I didn’t understand Arabic, but I clearly heard one of the chefs insulting a guest in Arabic, calling him stupid. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in hospitality. Overall, while the property has good facilities, the poor service, lack of professionalism, and disrespectful behavior from some staff left me very disappointed.

The number of stairs is annoying ☹️ The restaurant does not accommodate the number of guests especially at lunch, so you must wait until a place becomes available for you in the restaurant .

Verified reviewMe and my friends had a fantastic stay at The Grand Hotel Sharm El Sheikh. The location is great, and the resort has everything you need , from multiple restaurants and bars to great facilities, but what really made our stay special was the amazing staff. The team at the front desk was super welcoming from the start. A big thank you to Ahmed, who checked us in with a smile and made us feel at home right away. We also have to give a special shoutout to the bar staff, especially Omar and Hassan. Every day, they greeted us like old friends and served up incredible drinks with genuine warmth and energy. They were a big part of why we looked forward to our evenings at the resort. At the end of the day, it's not just the beautiful location or the amenities that make this place stand out, it’s the people. The staff truly went above and beyond, and they’re the reason we’d love to come back.

Rooms are disgusting, smell of toilet all over the room since toilet holds no water. Rooms are extremely old and not maintained properly over the years. No induction about the hotel, neither facilities once you check in. They just handover your room key and you are on your own to discover. Staff rude. You will find everywhere customers fighting with hotel stuff. No one wants to help unless you pay tips. During lunch time you will find waiters throwing plates feeling unhappy from lack of tips. Only 2 guys in reception were helpful - Ahmed Saleh & Essam, the rest of them - rude, always upset and angry

Verified reviewEvery thing in the hotel was perfect the reception starting from Mr. Ahmed Mansour and Mr David and Mrs randa at the restaurant all of them were really friendly and cared about every detail to make your stay feel happy really ,,,,,this was my 2nd stay in this hotel in one year and inshalah will be more and more visits ,, Food is really good with multiple options and very tasty ----- sea is amazing and all the bars are very professional rooms are very clean and re innovated --- animation team always try to do thier best and the hotel manager were always asking all of travellers to check that every thing was perfect hope to come back soon

There was no wifi at 5 star hotel..There was no food option in main restaurant like hamburger,pizza etc..There was no entertainment in the room..Our room door handle broken next day they fixed it then after two days later our card didn’t work afternoon time and I reported to reception they said we will send technician to fix it but when we came back at 01:00 am after safari the door wasn’t open because they didn’t fixed it in a 10 hours..Then I went lobby and I argued with guy then technician came with me to the room and he checked the door,guess what??Just the batteries gone flat then he changed the batteries..If you want to drink cola or beer or any drink except juice you need the tell waiter to bring you because they not served drinks in the restaurant..There is a lobby bar just after main lobby if you get alcohol or any drink with glass you’re not allowed to go anywhere you must stay in there!!There was no option for alcohols..Beer just stella not original one..vodka,con,tequila etc with plastic bottles and you never heard the brands..All drinks served chill or nearly hot..I never drunk cold beverages..They served watermelon like 6-7 slices of whole watermelon!!!In Turkey hotels doing animals with watermelons like swan..I don’t know who gave this hotel 5 stars..
