Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIf you drive yourself there it's a little hard to find. We struggled because Google maps does not work telling you how to get there. But the host was very nice and helpful to make us find the place
The place looks like a museum. It's a real Nubian Housez very very pretty. The staff is very nice, they'll help you with everything you need. They cal also provide a boat that brings you to Philae island for a reasonable price. The view from the terrace is majestic

United StatesSiad is very helpful and kind, ensuring comfort in the room, transport as requested, and suggestions and arrangements for tours. The location is well placed for Philae Temple. Be aware that city center requires a taxi, but easily managed. The grounds and water views are excellent.

ThailandLocation is quite remote but the view is stunning and very close to Phillae temple. The host has excellent hospitality and helps us organize all transportation to different places and activities in Aswan. I would recommend if you would like a more tranquil place to chill and relax during your trip in Egypt. Sunrise and sunset is stunning from the room window. Breakfast is generous and delicious.

United StatesWanas Kato Guest House is an amazing place very close to Philae Temple. The place is decorated beautifully, and the owner is very nice man who was very helpful during our stay. He woke up with us when we were leaving to Abu Simbel at 3:30 AM in the morning and arranged for breakfast boxes for all of us. We had a sit-down breakfast the previous day which was also great! It has beautiful view of the water with all the small boats parked in the water.

United Kingdom-Although the location is nice and quiet, after a few days it can get a little frustrating having to get a taxi to the city centre for restaurants or something else. - free breakfast and food felt low quality and very processed, basic and lack of variety. Considering this is a more expensive accommodation it was slightly disappointing. - mosquitoes got into my room, be careful leaving the balcony door open, even slightly. - WiFi didn't have the greatest connection in my room, it's good to have a SIM card with data just to be on the safe side.
- quiet relaxing location - right by Philae temple, the guesthouse has its own boat to take you there for a price. - friendly staff and owner who will help in any way and organise tours or transportation to temples. - free hibiscus drink and fruit for everyone. - nice room with a good Aircon, great view from my balcony, hot shower and comfy bed.

AustriaIt was a pleasure to stay at Wanas Kato. It is quiet and a bit remote, but easy to access restaurants by boat and visit the temple Philae. One evening, the owner Sied cooked for us, which was a real treat. The breakfast was continental. The staff was very friendly. Thank you for hosting us!

United KingdomI had a fantastic experience staying at this lovely guest house in Aswan. The location is perfect—close to everything yet peaceful enough to relax and enjoy the views. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. Sayed, the owner, was incredibly helpful with everything from arranging transport to offering local tips, and his family were just as kind and welcoming. It felt more like visiting friends than staying at a guest house The traditional food served was absolutely delicious and gave a real taste of local culture. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Aswan!

United KingdomThe bathroom is more a wet room (so shower without a curtain or glass wall/door. If you don’t have a car, you need to organise a taxi or ride to go for dinner as there’s not much nearby and the guesthouse stops serving food in the afternoon. If there are early boat rides, you can get a little disturbed by the engines in the morning.
The view from the room was incredible - looking over the river and being able to see just the very top of Philae temple, and is a short walk to the pier from the boats that go to Philae temple. Sayeed was very friendly and helpful and even walked me to the pier and the souk by them. There’s an amazing rooftop terrace. The bedroom was a good size, comfortable bed and pillows and a clean bathroom. Breakfast was nice and I tried the chicken lunch which was really good.
