Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

VietnamNothing to be honest.
I had a fantastic stay at Luxor View Hostel and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor. Located on the quiet west bank, this hostel offers a calm and authentic experience away from the crowded tourist areas. It's close to major west bank attractions like the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple, and just a short ferry ride across the Nile to the east bank. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable plus the swing pool is available all the time, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Plus the What truly made my experience exceptional was the owner, Medhat, and his lovely family. From arranging a pickup at the bus station, to organizing tours and transportation at very fair prices, Medhat made everything easy and stress-free. He was incredibly helpful and informative, always ready to answer any question I had—not just about Luxor, bur Aswan and other location, thanks to him I could my way easier to the next destination. His insights and advice added so much to my trip. The highlight of my stay was the hot air balloon ride that Medhat helped arrange—an unforgettable sunrise experience over the Nile and ancient temples. If you're looking for genuine hospitality, peaceful surroundings, and great value, Luxor View Hostel is the perfect choice. I left feeling well taken care of, and I’d happily return!

SwitzerlandThe owner realized many good things in his hotel. He gets the basic idea. Here and there there are always possibilities to offer the guest an extra thrill. I wish him the best developing this. In Egypt it's hard to make things the way tourists are used to. Every effort in this direction is all the more to be praised. I thought the location can be very much recommended: A cool village close by displays the interesting, real egyptian life. Smiling and reacting to the people leads to interesting discourses. The bakshish begging of some children, not though. The monuments are close (go at night also to look at the illuminated mountain - costs nothing and is cool!). The Nile promenade is within manageable distance by bycicle (don't let the boat ride peddlers control you program).

FranceThings to consider: Since this hostel is on the west bank, you’ll need a taxi or a car to get around. The city center and the lively promenade along the Nile are across the river, and depending on traffic, getting there can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
We stayed at Luxor View Hostel as a family and absolutely loved the experience. Nestled on the west bank of the Nile, this place offers a peaceful escape from the crowded tourist areas of Luxor. It’s conveniently located near the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Ramesseum, and the Colossi of Memnon, all just a short drive away (15-20 minutes). One of the highlights for us was the relaxing atmosphere. The gentle sound of running water, the beautiful pool, and the quiet surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, always available to help with anything we needed. He arranged transportation for us at fair prices, which was essential since Luxor doesn’t have Uber. Thanks to him, we also found a great deal on a hot air balloon ride— much better than what we had seen online. Watching the sunset from a felucca was another unforgettable experience. The meals were excellent! The dinner was homemade, fresh, and very generous, and the breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip. If you're looking for a quiet, family-friendly place with great hospitality and easy access to Luxor’s main sites, this is a fantastic choice!

SpainWe liked everything in the property. This hostal is not in a touristy area (this was perfect for us) but you will need to take a ride to the city centre if you are looking for touristy area. However, Medhad helped us to go anywhere we needed.
Medhad and his family (the hosts) were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful with our stay. Medhad organised day trips cheaper than the ones you find online and helped us to negotiate good prices for our travels. The breakfast and dinners were delicious and very generous. The swimming pool is an unexpected bonus in this hostal.

PolandThe breakfast wasn't really tasty and not even the amount enough, also it was really expensive for so little meal. The place was far away from anywhere and it was so hard to get a taxi. You can't really walk there because the area isn't nice, very dirty, trashy and shabby. The owner may seem nice until you don't want to book any trips with him. He doesn't allow to buy any food, water or drinks outside of the hotel and at the same time his prices are at least double.
We liked the room and the hotel garden.
