How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing stay! The property is just steps away from the Pyramids of Giza—I could literally see them from my bed! The rooms and bathrooms were spotless. This is a family-run hotel, and Mr. Mohammed, the owner, along with his nephew Abdul, are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. They went above and beyond—taking us out for fine dining in Cairo, guiding us through shopping in Old Cairo and Giza, and even arranging a beautiful cruise on the Nile. Truly unforgettable hospitality. Highly recommend!
It gets bit noisy but that’s part of Egypt living.

Verified reviewPros: - nice view of the pyramids from the rooftop and one of the rooms - spacious rooms at western standards - attention to guests
Cons: - attention to guests can be overwhelming: waking up guests to ask for breakfast preferences. A “do not disutb” door hold would help. Additionally, a simple system enabling the guest to attach to their door what breakfast to have and at what time would prevent the need to knock on the door - double vitrage - super noisy - ONLY one room with a view - the rest is quite bad
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you appreciated the view of the pyramids, the spacious rooms, and the attention our team offers to guests. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay were not as expected. We understand that personalized attention can sometimes feel intrusive, and we’re already working on improving this by introducing a more discreet breakfast preference system, as you suggested. Regarding the view: we do have several rooms that offer a nice view of the pyramids, but during your check-in, you personally chose your room from the available options. We’re always happy to guide our guests toward rooms that best match their preferences, and we’ll make sure to highlight these options more clearly in the future. As for the noise, we appreciate your note. While we do use double glazing, we’re aware that some outside noise can still come through and are exploring ways to improve soundproofing. and buy the way there is don't disturb sighn. in the room . We truly value your input and hope to welcome you again with an even better experience.

Verified reviewThe room was really nice. The jacuzzi with pyramid views was amazing. Bathroom was very modern. Magdi and his family were so kind. The place is family-owned with just a few rooms so the family go out of their way to make the guests feel comfortable.
It’s on a busy road so it gets noisy. But by the second night, I got used to it and it didn’t bother me any longer.

Verified reviewFantastic place! The host was amazing, kind and hospitable. He helped us with everything, gave us the best tips and recommendations and helped set some great guided tours. The breakfast was great, and the host changed the breakfast menu to make our stay even better after I asked about Lambda, the views of the pyramids was just like in the photo and the terrace is phenomenal. It was extremely clean and you could even smell the cleanliness when you first entered the room. The jacuzzi is good and the view complimented it. What I liked most was the kindness and hospitality I felt, and I would absolutely recommend this place!
Not much to say about what I didn't like, it was near perfect. Maybe for some people it would be a bit loud at night as the streets of Cairo are always busy, but for me this was not an issue and it's what you should expect when coming to Egypt. I really don't have any bad comments to add.

Verified reviewIf you want to visit Giza, Egypt, Zahira Pyramid is the best place to stay, the owner Mr. Khattab and his staff from reception to housekeeping are very accommodating, they treat us like a real family. The hotel is very clean and they will provide anything you need. If you also need a tour package no need to find coz they have their own tour packages with lots of choices, Mr. Khatab himself will be the one to lead the tour with the best food to offer. He also keep on monitoring us to make sure that we are safe. Magdy from reception are really the best as he guide us to buy some souvenirs. Thanks also to the two beautiful ladies who for prepared our daily sumptous beeakfast❤️.

Verified reviewWe only stayed one night, but had a lovely time. What a cute owner - everyone there was friendly and sociable and would have helped if we had wanted any further service, our stay was just short. The room is spacious and the whirlpool placement is as advertized, with pyramid view. (Let them explain to you how to turn it - and the hot water - on.) Pyramids are seen from room and the cute terrace upstairs. Taxi to the airport was 20 €. The building is also near the papyrus/perfume institute and spice shop that the tours frequent, so if you haven´t been there and want that kind of thing it´s close. There is also a Carrefour about ten min down the road, with fixed prices, so it´s easy to shop there, just beware of the kids outside begging for money. The only downside is that the building is on a highly frequented road and it is unfortunatly rather noisy, but that cannot be helped in town, just bring earplugs and get used to muezzin calls. Also the rooms are on the third floor, without elevator, but the staircase was clean and proper, unlike other places I´ve seen here. Thank you guys, and good luck :)

Verified reviewThe staff were the best part. So friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for me. I was welcomed with a drink and a bowl of fruit even though I arrived in the early hours of the morning. The room was spotless. I had room 202 which is right next to reception. The staff can and will offer to arrange the tours for you which I highly recommend. Beds were comfy too.
The noise. BRING EAR PLUGS. This is a shame but the room was incredibly noisy, the hotel is on the main road and the traffic in Cairo does not stop and it's multiple horns every second. And I truly mean the noise DOES NOT STOP no matter the time of day. I slept fine with ear plugs but it even made watching the TV in the morning a difficult task. Just be aware that the shower isn't that powerful either and wasn't the hottest.

Verified reviewThe hotel is easy to spot with the big Zahira sign. It's perfectly located near Sphinx Airport, and just a 15 minutes' walk through quiet streets to the Giza pyramids complex (or a quick Uber ride away). The Grand Egyptian Museum is also very close by car. The hotel is smaller but it allows the staff to provide more attentive service to each guest. At check-in, we were welcomed by the owners with a fruit platter and hibiscus juice. The room was spacious and newly renovated. All the personal toiletries were great and the slippers were a thoughtful touch! The bathroom was clean and perfect for hot showers after a long day exploring the pyramids. The Egyptian breakfasts provided were fresh and delicious, and there's a good tea/coffee stall on the ground floor open at most times. The fridge and kettle were helpful. During our stay, we met Mr Khatab, Mohamed, Ahmad, Magdy, Abdelrahman, Souad and Shaima. They were all wonderful people, easy to talk to and always eager to help but never overbearing. They offer tour packages but aren't pushy about these at all; these are a good option for guests who haven't made independent plans. Their communication before our arrival made it easy to ask questions and prepare for our stay. Thank you all for this wonderful Egyptian experience!
Not a negative about the hotel itself but a practical tip: Cairo is a city that never sleeps. The hotel sits at a busy intersection so you'll hear all sorts of vehicles. This is normal for Egypt - you'll find some noise at all times from roads; whether it's vehicles or dogs, or other sounds, no matter where you stay. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Verified reviewThe staff is very kind, pleasant, always smiling, they want to fulfill your every wish, especially Mohamed. The room is comfortable, clean with new furniture. They organized the trip to Alexandria and Luxor in record time, as well as the much-desired balloon flight. Before leaving, we wanted to have cartouches with engraved names as a souvenir and Ahmed got them and brought them to the hotel very quickly. If we go to Egypt again, we will definitely be their guests again.
