How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExcellent location, wonderfully comfortable bed. Exceptionally patient young man at reception who dealt with temporary insanity and foul temper on my part. He was kind, helpful, and polite when he could have reacted very differently.
It was a bit difficult to get into the room. You had to time opening the door just right or immediately locked again.

Verified reviewThe location is very central in the old town. Ideal for a wander and finding bars etc. 20 minutes walk to Guggenheim.
Breakfast was a bit basic. Fruit unattractive. Packed cheese slices and evidence of packaged ham slices not appealing

Verified reviewIt is in a great location , it is very clean and has a lift so you don’t have to carry your luggage upstairs. The staff were fabulous, especially Tamara who went above and beyond to help my husband be able to watch AFL on the tv , so thank you Tamara
It was a little noisy as it’s right in the street, but the old town seems to quiet down around 11 so not to bad .the one thing I didn’t like was the toilet system , it uses a pump system and it’s very noisy , if you go to the bathroom during the night it wakes people up with the noise😢

Verified reviewThe location was amazing. Tamara was friendly and helpful. We had everything we needed.
Very little- perhaps just a fan (ceiling or pedestal) would have helped with the heat, but the air-conditioning works well so it isn’t necessary.

A bit pricey because of the big international event- i guess 5-7 times more expensive than usual:)

The toilet is in the bedroom, by the bed with no separation door or wall. If you go with your partner you will see and hear them while they are in the toilet unless you wait in the communal hallway. Complete waste of money, you get more privacy in a hostel. Bedroom is not clean enough and there are loose sockets under the bed.

Verified reviewThe location is everything. In the center close to restaurants and places you want to visit, but also two blocks away from the main train station. The bed was very confortable and the staff was very nice. Its nice that you can access the floor through an elevator so its easy when you have a lot of luggage.
The room we got was the one in the picture with all the windows, which are beautiful but extremely noisy. They are old windows that seem to not block but amplify the noise in the street. They only have blackout shades so you have the choice of darkness or exhibitionism! The breakfast was poor, it has fresh bread and that was the highlight. The worst part was the fact that the bathroom has NO DOOR! Honestly, my husband and I are pretty open but this was a little too much! Its literally half a wall that you can see into from bed. It should be in the description because it is not for everyone. We paid 120 euros for the night and I think it is to expensive for the experience of a hostel, even in the location it is.

Verified reviewGreat little room in an excellent location. Be aware that there are 6 different rooms and I thought we were getting the room with all the windows around it, which mainly features in the photos, but instead got a room with just a little window. So that was a surprise but probably a good thing as street was noisy at night. The double glazed windows did a good job at blocking the noise. Otherwise, good hotel-size room and nice to have an elevator for luggage in old town. Not sure what was going on with breakfast -no sign when we left at 8am-ish.

Verified reviewGreat location. Easy walking distance for everything we wanted to see.
Parking in public car park was a bit of a walk away especially if we had wanted to bring all of our luggage with us. Noisy street below. No air-conditioning. No cold bottled water available.

The noise. Street noise, Toilet noise, and noise being next to the kitchen and nearby rooms. Very poor sound proofing.
