How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Couldn’t get a cot because it was 2.30 pm and there was no one available to take it out. We stayed 2 nights and they wouldn’t make up the room or change the towels I left my Panama hat with the luggage when we arrived and it disappeared

Regarding your comment, we sincerely regret the loss of your cherished hat. The same surprise you felt upon not finding it is shared by us, especially considering that it was missed two days after your arrival. Barcelona experienced an exceptional heat wave, reaching temperatures of 38ºC—a more than understandable reason to miss having a hat. The receptionist who kindly stored your luggage upon arrival has confirmed to me that just minutes later, when you left to visit Park Güell, you were indeed wearing your hat. It appears that it was only after your return that you began to notice it was missing. .It is, however, somewhat striking that the absence of the hat was only noticed upon your departure, and not during your walks through the city under such intense and harmful sun. I trust you will agree that the prestige and reputation of an establishment such as Aparthotel Rambla 108 would never be put at risk over a sentimental and appreciated item. Every day, we carefully safeguard numerous belongings left behind by our valued guests—from valuable items to the most everyday souvenirs, or even a bottle of water placed in the reception fridge. As the Manager, I can state with absolute confidence and assurance that not even a forgotten teddy bear or a pair of socks has ever gone missing from our apartments. Our valued guests have access to all the information regarding the services of Aparthotel Rambla 108 at the reception desk, available for reading during check-in. Additionally, the receptionist provides verbal information. In both instances, guests are informed that apartment cleaning is scheduled every three nights, as well as their ability to freely request any necessities from reception during their stay—such as towels, toilet paper, salt, etc.—regardless of the length of their stay. I have thoroughly reviewed the conversations we have had with you via the OTA Booking platform. In none of them is there any request for a baby cot. We clearly state on our website that the cot service must be requested in advance. We have a limited number of beds and cots in our apartment building. Nonetheless, I am aware that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and for that reason, we constantly review and reinforce our internal procedures to ensure the highest standards of trust and service are maintained at all times. There are two separate blocks and the lift system was a bit confusing. Also, it was quite noisy late at night due to the location on La Rambla.

Verified reviewFrom the minute we walked in the door early to store our bags Jan the Duty Manager was just so helpful with hints and tips of what to do and where to go, along with even providing us with a map along with showing us all the points of interest. The location is super cool right in the heart of Las Ramblas and opposite the food market.

Verified reviewLocation was great. Beds were clean. Overall room was clean. I really liked that they had iron and ironing board. The bathroom was clean.
The towels were stained and didn't really look white. They were more on the greyish side. There were no hangers for the hand towel. They didn't provide washcloths. The signs on the door for the key were misleading. If you end up on the A side of the building, you have to carry your luggage over 6-7 steps before getting to an elevator from reception (not a big deal, but FYI)
