How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSwimming pool is great for kids, super nice staff, close to the beach, supermarket, boulevard, and the room terrace was nice!
Lifts looked very outdated. The top apartments feel quite small, they are more like a hotel room. Kitchen is nice for breakfasts, but do not recommend the cooking. Our neighbours were cooking and our room felt like a restaurant kitchen. We could hear -everything- from the room next door

Verified reviewI was there on vacation and I highly recommend it. The entire team was perfect, especially Dina at the reception. They made our stay smoother and easier. If you're looking for something familiar, this is the place for you.

Verified reviewFriendly staff, clean pools.
The rooms were not cleaned well at all, just superficially. The cleaning ladies even brought torn towels every day, which is not appropriate for a 4-star hotel. (Even though they received tips). Then the biggest disappointment was that the beach was very far from the hotel, although the reservation we made specified that Gran Beach is only 400 meters away. Absolutely untrue, we walked over a kilometer to the beach. Horrible to carry a 4-year-old child on our back to the beach in such great heat. Lucky for us that we had a rented car and we were able to travel to the nearby beach resorts. The reservation did not specify that the beach has a rocky sand and the entrance to the water is really terrible, very large stones. So our children could not enjoy the sea water in Calella but only in Lioret de Mar for example. It was the only and last time we were in Calella. It should be noted that the price of the hotel for a week without any meals was not low enough to accept any compromise. So, we do not recommend it.

Verified reviewThe bed was very comfortable and the apartment seemed to be clean. Hotel is situated not so far away from city center and the beach. The staff was helpful and nice.
Breakfest and Parking are overpriced... 12€ breakfest is insane for what is offered. The restaurant in general is not really a restaurant and no one actually eats lunch/dinner there. Billiard table is advertised as free for use to the guests but actually it isnt. All in all, a very overpriced hotel. People reserve seats at the pool by placing books on them. The roof in the toilet is made of cardboard so you hear every single time someone uses a toilet or flushes. Installations are very bad. Hotel being in proximity to city center is also a bad thing as there is almost 0 free parking spaces in Calella so you're kinda forced to pay for hotel parking for 15€/day.

Verified reviewThe reception workers is great and helpful, Alla . She handles excellently situation.
Very disappointing experience with the animation team We stayed at this hotel with our child and were shocked by the behavior of the animation staff. One day, a group of girls from the animation team took water noodles (float sticks) directly out of my child’s hands, which made him cry. When I approached and politely asked them to return the toy, they raised their voices at me and refused. I asked why they didn’t just get the float sticks themselves, and their response was shocking — they said my child had “annoyed” them, and that’s why they took the toys specifically from him and not from any other child. This kind of behavior towards small children is absolutely unacceptable. I have never encountered such rude and unprofessional staff, especially in a family-oriented hotel. I truly hope the hotel management takes this situation seriously and makes changes to ensure this doesn’t happen to other families.

The hotel rents towels for the pool and sea for €5 per unit, less suitable for couples, lots of families with children and noise.

Verified reviewNora, Sylvia, Juliett and Mario were excellent hosts. They were very helpful and professional. However, Alla made us all feel as that doing her job was more of a favor to us. Not impressed with her Our last day, she felt that taking in an early check-in that arrived to the counter after me was more important than taking 3 mins to help me find an ATM. She needs more training
The air duct in the first bedroom was not working. Our children woke up 2 of the 4 nights drenched in sweat. When we had asked for a fan to help circulate air, the evening staff stated they did not have those for the hotel however the next day when we asked the morning staff the immediately provided a fan.
