How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewFrom the welcoming greeting and smiles of the reception team to the friendly and helpful Bar Staff, this is one of those places you will visit time and time again. A nice mix of adults of all ages and from across the globe. The housekeeping team are just AMAZING, like angels of day… Their standards of cleanliness are exceptional and as long as the sign is on the door for them to come in and clean, you could be a sleep and you would never know they have been until you wake up to fresh towels and a clean apartment. Watching the team each morning thoroughly cleaning the pool, loungers and public areas as the sun rose instils me with the confidence in their cleaning ability and standards with in the hotel. I have stayed previously but I must say (reading the other comments) that things have definitely improved and rooms no longer look tired. For me it’s an AWESOME place… I can WORK remotely in the morning, CHILL or party by the pool in the afternoon (With Dj Lucky Friday & Saturday), SLEEP early evening and then head out to PARTY in the Bars & Clubs late at night and then REPEAT! Thanks again to Raico, Carmelo, Dayana, Carmen, Luis, Dj Lucky and the Axel Housekeeping Angels for an amazing stay…. I’ll Be Back

Verified reviewLocation is great, very close to Yumbo centre and you can walk 15-20mins or take very cheap taxi ride. The staff is very nice and friendly.
Sauna and steam room are dated and small. They are charging extra for bigger sunbeds like daybeds & cabanas. Bathrooms can be upgraded too.

Verified reviewOverall, an enjoyable stay with a great pool and relaxing areas, but I especially appreciated Hamza, the massage therapist in the wellness centre. I attended three times, and he provided three different types of massage — all of them were excellent. Highly recommended.
No one specifically, but at times reception seemed to find requests a bit of a hassle - which was surprising. It’s an older building, so some things could be better.

Facilities could use a little upgrade, same applies to breakfast and menu options. Kitchen was closing too early. Too many straight couples around the pool over the weekend, particularly during events.

Too many items in the apartment to pay for. The fridge was too full of mini bar items, even the coffee pods and washing liquid were chargeable. The air conditioning was only in the living area which meant the bedroom was very hot. Appreciate this is a party hotel and did enjoy the Saturday pool party but volume was far too loud meaning got absolutely no rest on the Saturday from 10am until 11pm.

Verified reviewWe had an incredible time at Axel Beach Maspalomas - couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A special thank you to Mari Carmen and Dayanna on reception - they were both fantastic. So friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Mr. Solution was brilliant - always on hand, full of energy, and made sure everyone was having a great time. The bar staff were great too – really friendly and made the atmosphere fun and relaxed. And a big thanks to the cleaning team – the place was spotless the whole time we were there. The staff here really do make all the difference. We felt looked after from the moment we arrived. Would absolutely come back. Thanks again to everyone for a brilliant stay!
Nothing major - Pool bathroom light timer plunges you into darkness every 10 seconds LOL. There is a weights machine pin missing in the gym so not all machines can be used at the same time.

The hotel has a great vibe – stylish, relaxed, and perfectly located. The facilities were top-notch: the pool area was always clean and inviting, the gym was well-equipped, and the garden area offered a perfect place to unwind. A special shoutout goes to Hamza, the masseur – his hands are magic! One of the best massages we've ever had. Professional, attentive, and genuinely kind, he made the whole experience even more relaxing and memorable. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Verified reviewThe location was amazing and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pool area was also nice and the pool was a pleasant temperature. My husband also rated the gym facilities.
The drinks in the Skybar by the pool were very expensive. The facilities are tired and could definitely do with a refresh. We were also given bath robes which were lovely, but they removed them from our room two days before we left. Not sure why??! This was quite annoying. The breakfast was ok however more variety of food would be nice. The rooms were tired and in need of updating. Also there was no a/c in the bedroom, only in the living area. This made sleeping sometimes uncomfortable. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels, however the sinks and toilet were not cleaned. We did this ourselves. We also didn’t use any drinks in the mini bar as these are also very expensive.
