    The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed the breakfast was very good with a wide choice - I liked the omlette station where you could get a made to order omlette. The staff were friendly and helpfull. There were a number of pools and there were enough sun loungers for the guests - the hotel grounds are pleasent and well maintained. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel so you can get a bus to Almeria the main town/city in the area - the moorish fort the Alcazaba is very good. The transfer from the airport is also quite short 10-15 mins appox.

    Just a few minor things - the fridge in the room didn't get drinks cold enough - but I stress that is a minor issue. We tried to book a number of trips from the hotel but it seems that you have to make your own way to the pick-ups - in other places in Spain you can book tours to from your hotel, again this is a minor issue.

    Air conditioning did not keep the room cool enough . Unable to get it below 24 degrees . Fridge was leaking water Both reported to staff

    Stunning location, isolated enough to relax and well connected to many nice places. One member of the reception staff was particularly helpful (out of five I saw during our stay).

    I took a reasonable low-season booking.com offer for a 4-star hotel. However, I knew Barcelo hotels before and I got disappointed by the significant lower standards of this 4-stars hotel. Poor reception service (they were always too busy), half of the pools were closed, the paella restaurant was closed, and there was a noisy wedding with loud music. The cleaning wasn’t done properly either. Plus we were charged 115 euros extra from 4-nights breakfast and renting towels. I could notice the lack of interest, perhaps because it was low season. Anyway, we will not be back. Too expensive for the value.

    So, many pools to enjoy, beach so close, and rooms were very nice. Food was good-see what I didn't like bellow about it.

    The Hot Tub was closed. I understand closing things and refurbishing for maintenance it the slower time of the year. But the Hot Tub if anything you service that in the peak of the hot season when you don't want a hot tub so much but the pool to cool off in. Also, git rid of the buffet at least for dinner. Loses it's appeal.

    Check-in was efficient and friendly. The even called us to say that our room was ready in advance. The room was big and very nice with an amazingly comfortable bed. Bathroom had both shower and a small bathtub. Breakfast had a good choice of everything you could possibly image and freshly squeezed orange juice.

    We chose this hotel because after touring many Spanish cities we wanted to relax, have a massage, enjoy the spa …The fitness, wellness center and spa were all closed even though the sign in the door said open every day. Supposedly they are open on the weekend. There are 4 pools on site but 2 were always closed. The restaurant by the pool was also closed for renovation with hammering and sawing metal all day long! This is not a place to relax. All of this is not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. None of this was mentioned on booking.com otherwise we would have booked somewhere else. Lastly the hotels main restaurant looked like a cafeteria, was again extremely noisy and the worst part is that the food was cold in the evening and you had to microwave it yourself.

    Breakfast good staff very accommodating and friendly

    Main pool was closed on Monday and as everything in almeria was also closed it would have been pleasant to have a swim in an adult pool Arrozante restaurant closed during our stay

    A nice hotel in the quiet season. Our room was large and very comfortable with a nice outlook from the balcony. Good walking along the seafront promenade

    Dining room busy at breakfast with only a few guests - coffee machines running out regularly. One swimming pool was advertised as open in April, but it was too shallow to actually swim in.
