The lovely property has been thoughtfully designed and is very clean and well maintained. The hosts are very gracious and accommodating. We only wish we would have stayed longer than one night. My husband had a stomach upset and they were so kind and helpful in modifying the breakfast to suit our needs. We felt they cared for our well being and that their hospitality was genuine. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and willing to share about its history. Our stay at Caraxolas, despite the stomach upset, was one of the highlights of our 18-day road trip in Spain. ¡Mil gracias!

It's a bit of a drive to find a restaurant for dinner

Lovely home and room, excellent facilities, very comfortable bed, tastefully decorated. A delicious breakfast was provided each morning; our hosts were friendly and made us feel very welcomed. They suggested great itineraries for the days that we were there and really appreciated their assistance.

Caraxolas is a stunning country home based in a small village a short drive to Lugo. The home is beautifully designed with stone and wood features and soft furnishings. It contains everything for a confortable stay. The hosts Ivan and Isabel were incredibly welcoming, friendly, helpful and prepared a delicious breakfast. We loved the property.

The breakfast was amazing! The owners are super nice people and we enjoyed chatting with them via Google Translate. They were very patient with my bad Spanish and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

We had a very pleasant stay, in this beautiful house and very nice welcome by our hosts (a treat of a drink and snack). Breakfast is excellent, and Isobel made us nice sandwich for our day trip. Very helpful in every way to make guests comfortabel in their house.

The hosts were really nice! They were always attentive and they recommended us really nice places to visit in Galicia and some hike routes which we end up doing! :) The breakfast is amazingly good and the room was very clean and cozy. The location worked for us which came by car.

As it's in an isolated location, nothing really nearby for food. Drove about 20-30 min to Lugo in the evening for dinner - apart from that we were really really happy.

Breakfast was amazing. Hosts really attentive and welcoming. Lovely quiet location. Perfect as a base to explore Lugo and then go for a day trip to Santiago.

If I had to choose anything to say here it would be the lack of local restaurants. There is only one eatery nearby which is very basic. My advice would be to visit Lugo to eat.

We absolutely loved this place!! Complete peace and quiet in the Galician countryside. Everything about it was perfect and our host Isa was so lovely and was a joy to be with. The house itself has been beautifully renovated and is immaculate in every detail. The breakfast each day was fabulous. The amazing town of Lugo is 10km away and is a must visit if you appreciate history and culture. There are plenty of good restaurants and tapas bars to visit.

Everything. Great rural village, quiet and serene. Beautifully presented and comfortable accommodation complemented by the warm welcome by our hostess. The local restaurant, about 700 metres away, provided an excellent value for dinner. An excellent breakfast. We would definitely stay again.
