How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location and the surroundings are really amazing. We loved the nature, the river and the climate. The rooms were really nice and clean. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Especially the owner and Juan really made sure we had everything we needed. Everyday we were welcomed and served with a smile and we truly had a wonderful time.

Verified reviewThe property was as described however all facilities were not open at this time of year. Rooms were both suitable and reasonably priced. It was lovely to look out from the balcony. After telling the staff we didn’t want dinner at the hotel we changed our minds and staff were able to accommodate our needs.
No tea or coffee making facility in bedroom. Swimming pool not clean enough to swim in due to the time of year. Staff unable to speak any English and we had limited Spanish so communication was difficult and we struggled to communicate about prices and dinner options using google translate. In the end it all worked ok.

Verified reviewGreat location, room with terrace was lovely but quite small. The gardens were beautiful and tranquil as was the general ambience of the setting.
We came for total relaxation and quiet, however, it was very busy when we were there, lots of families and the pool area was extremely busy so difficult to relax. Food was acceptable but service was very hurried and a bit random eg. getting the bill before finishing the meal. Did not like having staff lean over our table at breakfast and spraying fly spray around the windows which probably landed in our food.

Verified reviewThe location was magical--in the woods--isolated, but close to other restaurants and shops and hiking scenery. The room was on a higher floor with good views, as requested. The grounds were well maintained. And the breakfast was excellent--all I had to do was ask, and I received! Very enjoyable and relaxing. The decor of the hotel is absolutely beautifully artistic--a reason I look for this type of hotel (with character and thoughtful attention to detail).
The tranquility was interrupted, especially at night, by a dog barking--probably disturbed by roaming animals of the wild. The room had a nice balcony, as requested. It had everything, but was rather small; it would have been very tight and difficult to manage if I had come with a partner.

Verified reviewThe hotel has a number of interesting features and lots of artefacts from its time as a monastery. Gardens and pool area are all well maintained and very colourful at the time we were there.
The lack of a full service restaurant. Although the owner was very helpful over the evening meal a set meal with no choice was not ideal. Two of the three nights we ate there we were the only people doing so and they set us a table in the bar area. As we are both in our 80’s we did not want to drive the narrow twisting roads at night to go to the nearest town.

Verified reviewThey prepared a delicious dinner and served it for us although we came very late right before the kitchen closure. It is all very nice, it looks like an old castle inside.

Verified reviewSet amongst lovely woodland, well off the main road. Ideal to immerse yourself in nature. We had a room with a terrace that, when it stopped raining, gave us the chance sit peacefully and listen to the morning birdsong. A fascinating site and a lot of grounds to explore and walk around when drier.
No heating in the bedroom, although spare blankets for the bed.

Verified reviewIts our 3rd visit its a lovely place to stay. there are lots of wild animals roaming around, a great photographic opportunity
There wasn't enough staff, we could never find anyone to serve us. One night we went down to have a drink & some food, there was not a single member of staff to be found, inside & out. After 35mins of looking we rang the number we had & a man turned up, we gave him our order & his phone rang & he went outside. Eventually after we has been waiting 45mins we had to go outside & demand he came in & serve us, he came in & made 2 Gin & Tonics. During the process his phone rang again & he answered it, when our drinks came he had forgotten to put the Gin in the glasses so we had to ask for it. Also our room wasn't very good, it was next to the public toilet which disturbed us & there was a constant noise of people dragging chairs & tables around, it may have been the kitchen. I was a bit disappointed as we were regular customers & there plenty of better rooms available because there were only a few guests in the hotel.
