Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo balcony in room even though it stated on booking confirmation
Nice location, lovely pool, restaurant food was beautiful, but apparently a balcony in spain is just a window in your room. Couldn't be bothered arguing.

United KingdomA wonderful hotel in the beautiful hills near Zahara de la Sierra. We stayed 1 night between Granada and Seville, but wished we could have stayed and explored more. Also the hotel has a little chapel and olive garden.

United KingdomStunning location with lake and mountain views. Probably the most attractive landscaped car park I've ever seen! Very comfortable rooms with blackout curtains and ours had a terrace too. Very quiet, traditional Spanish hotel. Swimming pool, own chapel ( from when it presumably had a large staff) . Spa . Great to visit Montecorto(2 miles) with it's amazing fountains and streams routed through and under the houses. Very picturesque. Also Zahara - up on a hill - lots of parking at the bottom and wonderful views. Highly recommended

United KingdomCant fault it really for me it was perfect and matched all I was looking for in our break away from all the hustle and bustle of every day life. The hotel menu was limited as it did not vary from one night. A massive thank you to all at Cotijo Salinas
Location for me was perfect high in the moutains with 360° views, a peacefull Shangra La retreat just 25 mins from Ronda. The staff were superb especially Olga she was super woman. They were very attentive and made our stay a magical memory.

MaltaWe were waiting quite a while to be served dinner and the breakfast wasn't anything special considering it's a four star hotel.
We loved our room as there was an amazing view of the mountains and the private terrace was a definite plus. The double bed was two singles pushed together but that wasn't a dealbreaker for us. The shower was also huge and the bathroom was stocked with soaps and shampoos. It is extremely quiet and cut off from everything. Walking around the hotel was also a beautiful experience. There's also a parking area which we found useful.

United KingdomThe shower head was broken and could not be locked onto the rail adjusting the height. The water was not distributed evenly. This was the only thing that deterred from a beautiful hotel!
The location was beautiful. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. The room was spacious, beds comfortable.

FranceThe rooms are not soundproof, you can hear others and the private terrace is not totally private given the rooms above that have a view on it. Some equipment could be proposed (water fountain for example) and breakfast could propose fresh juices instead of the concentrated ones.
Nice environment with a great view and very calm. The pool, even though a bit small, is nice and refreshing. The staff is great, smiling and answers nicely to your demands.

United KingdomSadly it was very empty when we visited for 3 nights, not sure why. Reception is dark and not welcoming and very strange to play colonel bogey when door opens. Real bulls heads in lounge understandable I guess. Spa is 50 to 60 euros extra charge and only open for very limited and inconvenient hours. We ate in 3 times as nothing else is available within 20 mins drive in the evening. Dinner was variable….same menu each night. Tagine nice but could do with cous cous. Peppers with fishy filling served luke warm. Desserts very disappointing and could be so much better but if diner numbers are low this may be the issue? Very little info available about things to see and do in the area. Wanted to find out about history of the cortijo but couldn’t find anything.
Gorgeous views down over the man made lake in the distance. Sizeable well furnished bedroom. Interesting to have a bull ring and mini church at the cortijo! Pleasant staff. Towels for pool. Serres white and rose wine nice. Lamb shank tasty. Breakfast was fine but fresh croissants would be a nice addition.
