How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The smells in the room and the cleaning staff who look into my personal stuff

We had a lower apartment, so not a great view. The comfort in the apartment was a little lacking - seats very hard. The shower was not very good needed a different head.

Verified reviewThis was our fourth visit to Cura Sol, and each year we enjoy it more. The location is perfect, 1 minute walk to the bus stop and taxi rank, there is a well-stocked SPAR a minute walk away and there are a couple of bars and restaurants if you don't fancy leaving Playa Cura. Cura Sol itself is spotless and well maintained, the pool area and beautiful greenery are proudly tended to by the staff. In fact, it is the staff are what keep us coming back - they are exceptional - the stars of Cura Sol. They go above and beyond to make us feel welcome, they are so kind to us.

Verified reviewWere given a poor room 201 bit after a bit of chats with staff. Gave us bottom floor 106 we had no problems at all .the staff that looked after our room were very good .the breakfasts were also very good .the only thing that I will recommend is w/f should be in rooms as well as bar and restaurant and no charge.will be staying again no problem we go to gran canaria 3/4 times a year. And I will recommend this hotel

Verified reviewIt was perfect - the pool and hot tub were so relaxing, looking out to sea, not too busy (November) the staff were friendly and it was an easygoing atmosphere. The breakfast was great, and went on until 11 so we didn’t need lunch if we had it late. Music in the evenings but not too loud - not a party town but still fun. It’s just up the hill from several nice restaurants, a supermarket and the beach. I would definitely come back here every year if I could.
The first room we had with the en suite - the toilet had a glass door and there were gaps at the top and bottom so it felt like the toilet was in the bedroom - no privacy or boundary. Thankfully they changed our room on my request the next day. So if that sort of thing would bother you too make sure you check it’s not that room. The room they moved us to was absolutely ideal - private bathroom, more space. The balcony wasn’t quite as private but private enough that it feels like your own space. The vegetables at breakfast were a weird choice - sprouts one morning?! It didn’t matter, just not what I’d have with my egg and toast 😆

Verified reviewI don’t recommend this place to anyone. Our problems regarding the apartment: - We just spent one day in the apartment where several cockroaches appeared. We immediately reported this to the reception, and requested a new apartment, but they couldn’t give another one, because every apartment was booked. They promised they will fix the issue. Our stuff was in the car all day, because we thought, it would be a professional extermination, but it was a joke. They tried to kill the cockroaches with some sort of spray. There were rifts on the wall, where probably the insects lived, and they filled the rifts with silicon…End of the day we moved back to the apartment, but we saw cockroaches in the middle of the bedroom again. We killed them and we went to the reception to ask a new room again, but they were only available by phone and they didn’t want to do anything on that night. Finally we booked a new apartment and leave this. We didn’t get our money back for that night which is not correct. - There were also cockroaches 5 meters from our door, next to the bin. - We hadn’t hot water in the first night, because the boiler was switched off - It was smelly in the apartment. - The kitchen was incompletely equipped. - There was no soap, washing-up liquid and sponge. - The apartment is not very clean. - You have to pay for the wifi inside the apartment. - You have to pay for parking in front of the hotel. - The vegetables and the dried fruits were not fresh in the breakfast. - The lady on the reception is impolite.
Dear Gergely, first at all, thank you for taking a time to write a comment about our complex, even that this is not as positive as we are used to read. We are sorry that you had these incoveniences during your stay in our hotel, but as soon as we got the information from you, we tried to do our very best. The first thing that we need to afirm it´s that we have NO problems of cochroaches in our facilities. We have a contract with a fumigation company that spray our complex regulary. The problem in your apartment was something puntual due to the heat of these days and the proximity to the garden. We tried to look for a solution and even we offered you the possibility to change to one apartment in the next complex that belongs to the same company, with the same facilities (heated pool, views, and so on) and you rejected. About the extra costs that you had to pay for extra services: the price that we offer for the room is a basic price that includes services like cleaning, heated pool, and so on, giving the chance to every client to add the extra costs for those services they want to have extra. In the another hand, we offer 2 free wifi zones and the parking places of the street, that you can use with no charge at all. Even that our complex didn´t meet your expectations, we really hope that you had a nice time in Gran Canaria. The Curasol Team
