How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had difficulty checking in, the computer would not recognise our id cards. Called reception and someone was supposed to come and help us but didn't. After 30 minutes or so we managed to input our details manually. That was the only downfall and why we marked it down.
Perfect location, very central in the old part of the city just by the cathedral and not even 10 minutes walk to the station. The room was small but perfect for a weekend stay, had everything you needed. The bed was very comfy and the linen was good quality. We enjoyed our weekend.

Whilst the bed was comfortable, both pillows provided were pretty hard and brick-like. It would be nice to have one hard and one soft pillow! The auto-check in machine in the building lobby was a fiddle and it couldn't find my booking. After about 15 minutes trying, we had to call reception (which is in another building 5 mins away) and they were able to sort out the problem remotely.
Attractive, modern room and bathroom. The property location is excellent, in the centre of the old town and close to cafés, bars and restaurants. Very little street noise and not much noise from other guests.

We were expecting a double bed, but instead got 2 separate beds. The bathroom has no door.
Great location, Everything including the cathedral, the central market and all the fancy restaurants and cafés were on 5 minutes by walking. The beds were super comfortable!!!

The bathroom has no space to put any cosmetics, it would be good to install shelves.
The location is just perfect, in the very centre of Valencia. The room is small, but has a big and comfortable bed. Overall good value for money.

It would have been nice to have had a welcome pack in the room, with just maybe the wi if code and city map, info etc. Breakfast was ok, maybe more of a selection of pastries would have been nice, especially as the bakery is literally around the corner. Also maybe a safety deposit box in the room.
We stayed in a deluxe double room with a balcony which was a perfect size, clean and fab bathroom. Location was perfect, close proximity to all the tourist attractions, great restaurants and bars local as well. Easy directions to locate the room as well, even though the 24hr reception was located about 5 mins walk away this was not a problem,. Check in easy as well, even though digital.

Booked to stay in a superior double but the room provided was a double. (Maybe the early check in)

The room was a bit small and had a slight odor that was somewhat unpleasant. Addressing this would make the experience even better.
The apartment had a fantastic location, was well-equipped, and easy to access. Everything was well-organized, making the stay smooth and comfortable.

They don’t provide parking options so we ended up parking at the central market parking (24€/day).
The location is perfect, very short walk to any downtown landmark! Huge bed and very comfortable, heated room and big mirror. Very good value for price. The staff was attentive and helpful.

The entrance system is difficult. The shower needed maintenance as did the toilet which kept dripping all the time. Check out at 12 but if you nipped out before then the key no longer worked. Potentially a major problem. No human on reception.
