How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe meals were delicious. Cleaning service was perfect. The view from the hotel is gorgeous.
The hotel is very old styled. The water pressure was too weak. The TV is very small. The hotel is located very high, it makes it very difficult to come back by foot. Although the hotel provides shuttles several times a day.

Verified reviewThe buffet lunch and dinner at 13 euros is excellent value. Very spacious room and excellent modern bathroom
We were given room 106, which was right next to the metal staircase. The noise was unbelievably bad!

Verified reviewThe swimming pool was great.
It needs a bit of money spent on it. Everything just looks a bit sad and neglected. It's definitely on the cheaper end of the spectrum and if you go with low expectations then you won't be disappointed

Verified reviewThis was our 2nd stay at Hotel Grecs & we will be back next year. The view is panoramic of Roses bay from every where in the hotel. The food is plentiful & delicious. The swimming pool is big & lots of sun beds. The most important thing is the relaxed atmosphere created by the great staff.

Verified reviewWe liked the fact that it is outside of busy Roses. The meals on the terrace with a wonderful sea view, the large choice on the buffets (morning and evening).
Obviously, the location on the hill is a bit of a challenge for people who are not fit enough for the walk back from the beach (15 minutes). Otherwise, it is a great location.

Verified reviewIt was very attractive in its simple modern design. The room had a nice balcony offering a wonderful view of Roses bay, and I had one dinner there with the same panoramic view. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I was a little apprehensive based on some negative reviews, but I didn't experience sny issues. Room was very quiet. I used the hotel shuttle to the Ciutadella the first day, but afterwards found walking up the steep hill to be good exercise for me.

Verified reviewNice location at the top of a hill, so you get excellent views of the bay from the rooms. The breakfast was included in our case and was good: pastries, eggs, yoghurt, cereal, bread, fruit… and a different kind of homemade sweet dish every day: chucho de crema, pancakes, churros. Don’t expect any fancy stuff, but good! Quite a few parking spaces by the hotel. Room was big and we had an extra single bed that we used for suitcases. Cleaning service was good too.
You need a car to go to the centre. We were hoping to get the bus shuttle service they offer at least for dinner after exploring other towns by ourselves, but the schedules are ridiculous and scarce, with 7pm being the last one in the evening, so you can’t rely on it for dinner. Dining room furniture is quite basic and bed was a bit hard for me (could feel springs).

Verified reviewVery clean and spacious. All rooms have a fantastic view. Lifts to all floors. Decent size swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food good for the price.
Mixed feelings about the location. Amazing views of the bay, but not very easy to get to the town and beach independently if you have mobility problems. There is a mini bus service available but not necessarily at the right times. Taxis are relatively expensive for the distance.

Verified reviewGreat food, great pool, lots of parking. The lady at reception "Maite" is very helpfull, and so are her girls that look after the restaurant etc. The view from the rooms is exceptional, though it can get warm in the summer afternoon, but the hotel has lots of space to lounge around in.,so best use the room terrace for mornings and evenings. Certainly a great place to hang out in Roses.
The hotel is placed up a height at the back of Roses,, hence the view,, If you don't have a car don't attempt to walk up, get a taxi, I'm sure, it's not expensive.

Verified reviewThis could be a 4star hotel but unfortunately there are so many issues that it merits no more than a 2star review. On a positive note, the swimming pool is amazing (22m long and 3m deep end), and the views from the upper floors are incredible - see photos. The air conditioning in the rooms is also excellent. But those are the only good points.
Firstly, the location is at the top of an extremely steep hill and it's impossible to walk up in the summer without breaking out into an exhausting sweat. They offer a shuttle bus service but this has to be prebooked and only runs a few times a day with the last service at 7pm..so utterly useless for going out to town for evening dinner. Taxis in the town are very difficult to get and we were forced to walk back to the hotel due to booked taxis simply not turning up. Secondly, the facilities in the rooms are the absolute bare minimum - like you'd find in a youth hostel. There is no fridge, kettle, or coffee machine so the balconies are hardly used by anyone. There isn't even a plug in the sink in case you need to do a bit of laundry (essential for those who travel light). There was no shower soap or gel and when we asked at reception, they said we don't provide toiletries like that and you'll have to wait for the cleaners the next day. So we went without a shower for the night on the expectation that the cleaners would fill the empty shower soap dispenser the following morning. However, despite cleaning the room, they didn't replenish the soap so we had to find a supermarket and buy our own shower gel and shampoo. The shower itself is also weak with fluctuating hot and cold water. Thirdly, that whilst the buffet breakfast is good, woe betide anyone who tries to take a croissant or fruit up to their room... They're happy to see uneaten food go in the bin rather than allow you to take food with you. Finally, the walls are paper thin and we could hear every cough and movement of the neighbouring rooms. In summary, if the management focused on the customer more and less on cutting every single cost, they'd have themselves a decent hotel. I just hope they make the necessary changes as outlined above.
Good afternoon, We are very sorry that you were not able to enjoy your stay with us. We apologize for the response you received on the soap issue. The receptionist should have given a replacement even though the cleaning team checks the soaps every time. It is a very common practice not to allow food to be taken for later. This is how buffets work. We can assure you that no food goes to waste, especially in the climate we find ourselves in now. Also, the staff told you several times that you can't fill your bag with breakfast food after you finish eating, but you laughed at them and continued doing so. All the information about the amenities we have and the items we provide for the rooms are listed on the site so you know what to expect. And the same goes for the location of the hotel. We take note of the comments about the shuttle bus and soundproofing, in addition to everything you said. We take the opinions our customers leave us very seriously. Thank you. Grecs Hotel.
