How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

If you want to explore good restaurants around the area, just ask Juan and he will guide you accordingly. You surely need a car to get there. the road is a bit off roady, but that's all part of the charm...

Verified reviewNice room with bathroom and patio/terrace.. Very clean. With kettle, fridge, cups snd some tea/coffee. Nice view and not far (by car) to the beautiful city of Arcos. Very helpful owner recommended a good parking spot in the city as well as some very good places to dine. He opened the gate for us when we returned from the city around 11PM. The country road leading to the property was a bit tricky (bumby) for the first time (especially that google navigation lead us all the way around instead the shortest and best way). We managed with our Skoda Kamiq and and it shouldn't be too difficult for any car, just review the route before entering the country roads and ignore the No Traffic (residents only)⚪ sign if necessary. A/C and fridge were making some sound as they always do but we didn't need to use them... Thank you for the beautiful time

Verified reviewThe proprietor Juan is exceptionally kind and charming. The bed was very comfortable. It was out in the country. The dogs are precious. It was very calm and enjoyable. Juan kindly and generously gave us a bag of fresh-picked oranges from his tree. They are fantastic!
It would be nice to have a few more tea choices and a couple of snacks in the room but that's very minor. There was an electric tea kettle and some instant coffee and mint or green tea. Travelers should note the rough terrain to get to the lodging. It's worth the effort though!

Verified reviewThe property and the room are amazing, and the owners are very kind and welcoming. It is like an oasis, with a really nice view of the countryside and some of the nearby town, Arcos de la Frontera.
The road leading up to the property is not paved, and has quite a few potholes in it. It is manageable, we arrived in a small hatchback, but you should definitely drive here.

The room was comfortable and clean, providing a delightful countryside feel. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, adding to the warm atmosphere of our stay. Verified reviewThe place is very well maintained, has a nice garden and a great view. Hosts are very kind and helpful, they even gave us some fresh oranges.
The only minor inconvenience is the path to the property, which is non paved and in parts bumpy, so you have to be careful with the car.

Lots of flies in the room, the smell of the chickens. Shower head was not working properly. You definitely need a car as its far from restaurants and shops.
Sincerely, I am very sorry for the inconvenience of the flies. I am sure that there were none in the room when you arrived. If you leave the window without a mosquito net open all day we cannot prevent flies from entering. We have never hidden the fact that the establishment is in the countryside, surrounded by nature and, yes, there are chickens in the neighbourhood, but so far nobody has complained about it. I think that, in spite of that, the air here is better than in most accommodations. Anyway, thank you for your comments. We will do our best to improve. Best regards.

Verified reviewThe owners were extremely nice and helpful. The room with private bathroom were big and had a space for our car. Communication with the owner was perfect, always worried if we had the good location.
The water gets stuck in the shower, it doesn’t drain properly. It’s outside Setenil, so if you’re without a car it’s not comfortable. Otherwise, it’s perfect.

We could not go out from the property without asking the staff to open the gate because they have dogs. It was a bit strange feeling and also I could not go early morning walk.
First of all, thanks for your comment, it helps us improve. we are sorry that you found and inconvenience having to ask for the gate to be opened up for guests to go in or out. There is always somebody available to let people in and out of the property with the car and if you had said you wanted a morning walk, we would have explain that there is a small door by the gate that guest can use to go out of the property walking with out needing to tell anybody about it. We will include that information for future guest.
