Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAlthough an 18m2 room. It felt very cramped for space. We had Two suitcases and it took a bit of organising to access the room facilities as there was no room for the cases without climbing over them or putting them on the bed. One case ended up in front of the room door to prevent us tripping over it if we needed to access the bathroom during the night!
Fantastic location, 150m from Sol Metro station. Hotel was clean and breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful

United StatesThe breakfast is not at the hotel, one needs to walk outside to the restaurant where the breakfast is served. It can get noisy from youth partying at night. Close the window and use A/C if necessary.
The front desk was very nice and helpful in a few instances. The twin beds were confortable, the breakfast had lots of choices and very copious. The metro Sol is at 2 minutes on foot.

PhilippinesOne thing I wish the hotel offered more of was basic amenities/complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion, etc.) restocked more generously. These little touches go a long way.
The rooms were incredibly spacious. Definitely larger than most hotel rooms you’ll find in Madrid. The location couldn’t be more ideal. The hotel is in the heart of Puerta del Sol, so everything is just a stone’s throw away. It added so much convenience to the trip. Plus points for the air conditioning, too. Unlike many hotels in the area that rely on centralized systems (which tend to run too warm, especially in spring), this hotel had strong, individually controlled AC units that actually kept the room cool and comfortable at all times.

EstoniaThe window had a view of the courtyard roof. In this hotel you have to be very quite because sound carries from room to room. We could hear everything from the other rooms (showers, doors opening people talking ). Bathroom was far too small, hardly any space to move better toilet and the shower. The wifi didn't work well in the evenings.
The location were excellent (very central to everything)! Staff at the front desk 24hrs/day. Large room. Breakfast around the corner was lovely.

United KingdomFrosted glass bathroom door would leave little the the imagination if you were travelling with another person. The lift in the building was a bit small and bumpy (as they tend to be in old buildings) - I was happy to take the stairs instead though.
The hotel is very central and was easy to find. Reception was on the 2nd floor of the building but it was well signposted. Staff were friendly and helpful. I left my bag with them until it was time to check in and they remembered me when I returned. I booked a single room and ended up with a twin so I had extra space. My room was on the third floor and it was very quiet up there. Keycard was needed to access the corridor as well as the room so it felt safe. As the building is quite old, the rooms have high ceilings making them feel bigger. Bed was comfy and the room was clean. The hairdryer was good.

SpainThe soundproofing in the building is not great, mainly from bathrooms, toilets / showers in next rooms and above. Make sure to close the bathroom door before going to bed, that helps.
The location is great, next to bars and restaurants, short walk to the train and shopping streets. We arrived by train from Alicante and took another train from the Chamartin station to SOL. Very easy and fast. The room we got was big and very comfortable bed. The breakfast was lovely but super busy, maybe because we were quite late going there (next street at a restaurant)
