Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing adverse to report.
I only slept there, arrived late, left early. It is a quiet, residential area, about 15 minutes walk from the beach, although there are shops just a few minutes away. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the decor bright. It seems well-organised.

Not the best sound proofing in the room, the street is very quiet so no outdoor noise, but woke up to doors in the hallway opening. There’s not different settings to aircon, but it cools the room and is comfy to sleep with.
Location is great, 20min walk to Los Boliches train station, couple of minutes to closest minimarket and bakery, 20min walk to bigger stores and the beach. Nice and useful common area to eat own breakfast/snacks etc. The room was small but cozy, there was space to hang the clothes and a big private bathroom and even some hand and shower soap.

The location is a bit of a walk away buy honestly it is very peaceful so if you need a quiet peaceful place then this is it!
Hostal Kokkola is very cosy and clean. The place is well kept and the people working there seem very helpful and kind.

Room was small by cozy, really nice and clean. Bed was really comfortable. Location is in a beatiful neighbourhood, and employees were super friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience. Best value for money

The location is fantastic! 5 minutes away from a few shops and restaurants and only a 15 minute walk from the beach. The owner was so lovely aswell and said good monring to us everyday as we left. I also loved that there was a safe box to keep your key in while going out, it meant there was no stress about losing it. We had access to a fridge, a kettle and microwave. It was great!

It was clean and inviting from the outside. There is a small pool and a nice area at the back for people to sit out at night and there’s also a big table and parasol outside the front. Sylvia isn’t always there but there’s a machine where you can get water and beer and refreshments. It’s in a very quiet street which is unusual for Spain 😊. It’s about a 20 min walk down to the beach. There are some cafes and shops nearby that do a great breakfast and dinner. It’s uphill going back to the hostal which I didn’t find a problem but a taxi is about 6 euros if you want to get one. Outside the rooms is a spotless area where there’s tea and coffee and a fridge and these are free to use. There’s a contact number if Sylvia isn’t there for any queries you may have. The rooms themselves are very comfy with lovely warm showers and aircon. Sylvia left a hairdryer in my room so you can request this.

we have stayed at Hostal Kokkola before and knew what to expect and it didn’t disappoint.. the staff are very friendly and informative , the rooms clean and spacious , we will definitely choose Hostal Kokkola again . drinks machine by reception was very useful a nice garden with small pool and sun loungers . we would usually walk down to the beach and taxi back up the hill at night , although we are both in our 60’s and we have walked both ways when I’m not wearing heels . taxi was 7 euros . there are restaurants and bars and supermarkets close by and we both agreed that if we’d stay longer we’d try the Thai restaurant and other which was very close to the Hostal . British people don’t be fooled by the name Hostal ..they have en-suites in the rooms
