A little far from city centre, but can’t complain for the price.

The property was great for the price paid - very clean, great bathrooms and we slept so well here. The staff helped us to check in at around 01:00 and were very friendly.

simple rooms but clean and well-kept, there is little noise apart from other guests coming and going and the area is well connected to the airport and hosts a plethora of restaurants and little shops, if you don't need luxury this is a well located choice

Sharing bathrooms

Hostal Arrate is located in a really good area, near to Moncloa station. This district is Chamberi and it is full of restaurants, cafe and bar and it is really comfortable about travelling and use of transportation. The room was clean and they clean everyday, bathrooms are clean and in general I didn’t find nothing of bad in this place. The only negative thing is sharing the bathrooms with others customers but there are four, so I never find all of them totally unavailable.

Bed “fitted” sheet kept on coming off mattress as it didn’t have deep enough pockets. Anotherwards, sheet stays on mattress until you lie or sit on it. Super annoying as I had to regularly get out and remake bed lest I soil the mattress pad and possibly be charged extra.

Location only 4 blocks from Moncloa metro.

Good location - just few metro stations from Madrid’s centre. Clean and comfortable, despite the fact I had room without bathroom, there was 3 on my floor and I hadn’t wait anytime to enter them. Nice and helpful staff. Good option for cheap accommodation in Madrid.

The furniture is a bit shaky and chipped, an old towel hook is rusty and probably better to be removed or replaced with extra hook for the shower towel but still good overall. Also if the keys were marked clearer it would be better.

The host was very friendly, it was very good value for money and the location was convenient. The bathroom/toilet facilities were very good and clean, exceeded expectation

Wifi has poor connection. Had difficulty also using the elevator as there was no instruction how to use it as it is not the same as the commonly used elevator.

Overall, the place is good for the stay. Though is it shared toielet, it was clean.

Very good location and you can go to the park, museum or metro very easily. Quite place with lots of pleasant restaurants too.
