I don’t like to say (I didn’t like) as really there is nothing to dislike about this place, however my comments in terms of a review are ; there is no lift, so lots stairs to climb if you’re on the upper floors. The description states breakfast available but this didn’t seem to be the case , however there are many lovely bars nearby serving traditional Spanish breakfast so not really a problem.

Super location, a stones throw from the beach. Dogs are welcome but they do charge 10 euros per night per dog. The room was comfortable and clean, good air con and nicely decorated. We will definitely stay here again. Carbonares is a beautiful place, so clean and very peaceful, the beaches are amazing . Adorned with super restaurants and cafes where all the staff that we met were extremely pleasant. This place is very Spanish and rightly so, it’s Spain, so if you’re after a full English brekkie for 2 euro and drag shows until 2am this place is not for you.

We arrived with bikes and while this seemed to be a problem initially one of the ladies on reception was very accommodating and moved us to a room that was downstairs enabling us to store the bikes in our bedroom.

I liked everything about this place! I had such a good time even though I spent just one night here. It was exactly what I needed after a long 40km walk along the coast that day from Almeria. If ever I am in Carboneras again I will be Back at BF!

Only minor but shower was broken and i had to message and call the hotel several times to get the door codes prior to entry on the first day of my stay as they hadnt been delivered.

Great location. Very clean and modern room. Views of the sea were fantastic. Great value for money. Staff really helpful and room being serviced after first night was an unexpected nice touch.

Although the hotel is a block back from the beach, we could see the sea from our window, which was a pleasant surprise. We could get to the beach in less than a minute and could hear the sea through the open window. The room was very pleasant, spotlessly clean, very basic but tastefully decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a bit of a problem with the shower but the staff were super helpful and the problem was fixed in no time. All in all, for the budget price this is a great little hotel and we would definitely use it again.

Outside of the building is a bit ropey, but don’t be put off by that, for the money great little hotel. No staff present, key lock to get in which was fine for us but maybe not for everyone.

As we liked Carboneras so much we wanted a second night as the initial hotel could not accommodate we looked at alternatives. By far the best value with ease of parking nearby and the beach a minute away we selected Be Free. The ladies that run the place are exceptional in terms of hospitality and help. ( We went to check our booking and requested an earlier check-in than the stated 1400hrs we were WhatsApp'ed at 1230hrs with room ready. ) Lovely room second floor (203) super size bed, small balcony (enough for great views & towel drying) and absolutely spotless. While this residence is advertised as a one star hostel, it is by far one of the nicest places we have stayed in Spain. With bars , restaurants and shops all within a minute to a couple of minutes walk and the beach literally a stone throw away - what more do you want?! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully styled room, excellent value, and we received a free upgrade to a room with a sea view! The location is just a stones throw from the beach and promenade. The bed, shower, and AC were all excellent. Carboneras is a small but charming town close to the best beaches in Cabo de Gata and has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a grocery store, restaurants, and bars. Our interaction with the hosts was limited but positive. We did not try the breakfast as we preferred to eat out, but the host was kind enough to offer a complementary breakfast to us on our final day.

Check in wasn’t until 4pm which was a problem for us … then we had trouble opening gate to get in … would be great if they were more flexible with Check in times.

A very pleasent host who guided us to the local tapas bars using a map on which he outlined 4 or 5 tapes bars. We tried 2 and they were excellent. Located only a couple of streets back from the seafront with a small balcony overlooking the street but you can see the sea. We opted for breakfast here which was traditional Spanish fare of toast, tomato, cheese ect. However we were offered as much as we wanted which was great as we were on a cycling trip. Would definitely stay here again if passing through. Carboneras is a lovely town in a nice part of Spain
