How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation is good.
Checkin proces very bad. They don’t respond once you make the reservation. Just a couple hours before checkin, they ask you to fill in a form that is not user friendly and always give errors. You will not get an access code until you complete the online checkin. This was very frustrating for us since we were busy with traveling. We arrived 2 hours later than allowed checkin, but still found the cleaner in the apartment for cleaning and rushing things. Therefore the appartment was very dirty during our stay.

Verified review- The roof terrace was absolutely outstanding. Very cosy, offered both sun and shade throughout and even had a sea view. - We loved the location of the flat. The area was generally quite quiet and not very touristy, but offered everything you needed. It was only 100 metres to the beautiful beach and the old town was only 15-20 minutes away by bus.
- The floor was very dirty, white socks quickly turned brown. So was the carpet in the living room, which also stained the trousers of our crawling baby brown. - On a double bed (which was only 1.40m wide anyway) there was a topper that was only 1.20m wide. This is not very comfortable for two people. For us with a baby (it was the only bed with two connected mattresses) a disaster. - All the soap dispensers in the flat were empty, there were only two dishwasher tabs (we were there for 5 days), no cloths, no tea towels. - The kitchen equipment was generally poor. For example, there were only three wine glasses and only two saucepans (which almost fell apart) - We were contacted in advance via WhatsApp by a service employee who introduced himself as our contact person during our stay. On the way to the flat, I asked him if the door code was sufficient to get into the house and the flat. He confirmed this and told me to contact him if there were any problems. However, we couldn't get into the building with the code. Unfortunately, the employee was not available at short notice, so we couldn't get in. The employee also ignored the problem with the topper described above.

Verified reviewLovely all in the same floor appartment on the top floor of a very well maintained building with elevator. 3 bedrooms, 1 a bit stuffy with inner courtyard ‘view’, the other 2 with terrace doors and lots of daylight. The bigger bathroom is in 1 bedroom, the other smaller one is in the general area. The living area is a bit smaller than expected, large kitchen. The rooftop terrace is spacious and nice. The location is close to the ocean, in a local neighborhood, not close to the centre of Malaga. You can go there by taxi, bus, electric step or walk (50 minutes or so). Supermarket and pharmacy just downstairs. Lovely ocean boulevard with local restaurants, not many tourists in this area, we liked that. Free carpark in the building. There is a swimming pool somewhere in the building, but is was closed during our febr stay. Close to the airport.
We didn’t expect it to be that far from Malaga historic centre. The indoor carpark is not made for large rental cars, we really struggled. But you don’t need your car to go to the city centre. The rooftop furniture upholstery is dirty and ready to be renewed. There were many mosquitos in the bedrooms at night (in february!), we normally like to sleep with open window, but now we had to turn the airco on. We didn’t like all the old dead mosquito spots all over the walls and ceilings, we hope the cleaners will remove them as we (and guests before us) suggested. On the rooftop you hear a lot of street noise and you can smell that as well, not as quiet as we hoped in that sense.

Verified reviewSpacious apartment on top floor with an amazing terrace. Modern, clean and tidy. Very well equipped kitchen. FYI 1 bedroom is an ensuite. Overall efficient and polite communication with Iloft. Perfect location, 2 mins walking distance to the beach Misericordia and even less to the supermarket, pharmacy and bakery. By car 10 mins to Malaga center and 15 mins to the airport.
