How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel was great, the staff were very friendly and the bar prices were very reasonable. The pool was refreshing and a great place to relax after a drive. The view from the room was amazing.
The doors were difficult to open as the locks were stiff. We had 2 rooms and one room was 2 singles rather than a double.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect to discover Toro and there are two restaurants connected to the hotel, one of those with a great view.
The room is very simple and has the bare minimum. The tv hanging over the secondary bed (usually used by kids) is quite dangerous.

Verified reviewA clean, simple bedroom with a fabulous view over the river Douri valley from our balcony.
Breakfast was disappointing, in a dull room with minimal lighting. I wouldn't bother having it if I stayed here again. It's a shame, as the hotel has a lovely area with great views which would be so much nicer if used.

Breakfast was not good enough, all food covered in cling film and not enough variety, poor value for money.

Verified reviewThe bed was really comfortable and bathroom ok. Very clean, and an excellent view of the River Duero.
The Halloween evening was very disappointing . We ate the food, but it wasn’t really worth 31 euros each. Only about ten people in the restaurant, no atmosphere or music and 31st of October is my husband’s birthday and he was 80! So a double disappointment there !!

Verified reviewWe loved this place. We had booked a twin room with balcony. The first night we were put in a double with balcony and found the bed a bit small. There was no issue at all the next day when we asked to move. Very pleased to help! The rooms were spacious, clean and had terrific views of the River Duero and the countryside. The hotel was well positioned at the end of the small town of Toro and our balcony was a terrific sun trap. The bar/restaurant (again with brilliant views) was really good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy and you can park free right outside the hotel.
It was great

Verified reviewWe’ve stayed here many times but this visit everything seemed very end of season. Restaurant not open and not much available in town so ate in local bar for tapas.
The door to our room was difficult to open and the sliding balcony door was wobbly and the wood frame rotten at the bottom. Felt the room needed an update.

Verified reviewGreat view and location. Parking OK. Liked the bar in the square where no English was spoken. Just how we like it .Two handy supermarkets in easy reach where we found some good wines to bring home. Town was preparing for some big event as we left so a bit rushed to miss road closures.
Hotel reception didn't know when/if their bistro/cafe was open. We were told food would be available at 6 pm (early for Spain) so we called in, sat and watched some builders measuring up for a while and then it wasn't open for food at all. Back to the lovely bar in the square.

Verified reviewLocation is impeccable, right in the old town, next to bars and restaurants. The rooms have great views on the river and the bodegas. There's a nice bar& restaurant next to the swimming pool with the same views. The swimming pool is a must if you go in the summer. The staff were really nice and helpful. The AC in the room worked great.
It's a pity there are no fridges in rooms: we're talking about oenotourism, people will buy nice wines in the wineries and might want to have a bottle in their room, at the terrace, in the evening, but in +35°C heat in summer, without a fridge in the rooms, it's impossible. The swimming pool is small, but the real problem is the swimming pool area, there are literally 4 sun chairs, so it gets crowded real fast. The room standard seems to be varying even if you book the same kind of room (our friends got a room without a coffee machine while we had one in our room with new coffee capsules each morning, very handy if you want to have a breakfast on your balcony with views in the morning). At front desk there very often was no one to attend arriving/leaving guests during really long periods of time, they might be understaffed. The facilities are a little outdated.
