Breakfast options were good. Hotel had lots of character from architecture to paintings and furniture. Location is excellent for visiting the large beach which is very safe for swimming. Also for walking to shops and restaurants.

Rooms and bathroom in particular are very small so fine for a night or two but cramped for a longer stay.

The breakfast was terrible, the rooms were too small for two people to sleep comfortably, and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The only good things about the hotel were the location and the staff.

Stayed for 3 nights - great location walking distance to beach, city and sights. space to sit outside and a covered area - useful for rainy days. Sumptuous fittings and decor makes it a lovely looking place. Great showers and comfy bed. you can also make yourself a tea or coffee any time.

no fans/air conditioning to keep cool. The rooms are small so getting in and out of the bathroom means you have to do a dance with the door. somewhere to dry clothes would be useful for coming back from the beach (it also rained whilst we were there!).

We found the room very homely and cosy, great location (very close to the beach), and the bathroom and room were spotless. Almudena looked after us very well and took care of all our needs in a very friendly and professional manner.

    Fabulous location.

Room is small, which is fine. But... if a room is small where are you supposed to put the four extra cushions, the bedcover and the duvet when it is over 30 degrees? Too much unnecessary stuff was present in the small space. Plus the overhead chandelier had 8 super bright bulbs and the one bedside light wasn't working. So the lighting was very uncomfortable (until we unscrewed seven of the bulbs) It is also incredibly difficult to manoeuvre your body around the inward opening bathroom door (and my body is on the smaller side). And, if you open the window, you can't close the blind. Basically, it's just not a well designed space.

Lovely boutique hotel. Rooms are quite small, but adequate for the price paid. Clean and tidy. Location is perfect - opposite a golden, long sandy beach. Short walk into the square and 25 mins walk into town. Would recommend for a short break.

Rooms are small and can be a bit noisy if you are located on the ground floor as this is were the entrance is. Breakfast choice is limited, but again adequate. Could do with some nicer bread choices and fruit options. Fresh orange juice and a kettle to make tea and coffee was the best thing. Sight issue that needs to be fixed is that the shower door didn't close, so flooded the bathroom.

Location, location, location! Two minute walk to the beach!!! One minute walk to the local bar! 25 minute walk into the city centre! Clean and fairly comfortable. The room was cleaned daily! Breakfast was pretty good. The showers in the rooms are excellent, especially after a day on the beach! Staff were friendly and courteous. And it was a bargain at £73 a night.

Not so much didn’t like, but the rooms are small, though well appointed. We came for a week and had cases, body board and it was a squeeze! But we weren’t in much, so it wasn’t a killer. No air conditioning, which meant you had to have windows open but it is the start of the mosquito season!!!

The location was excellent for us, and very easy to get into central Santander on the regular buses. Lovely old hotel, great breakfast laid out in basement. Across the road from beautiful beaches and gardens

The day we arrived it was raining heavily. We were in the attic, and we discovered rainwater was coming in the roof and soaked my husband's luggage. There was no night desk to tell anyone, and as he had to leave v early in the morning, again no staff on desk, there seemed no point in mentioning it after the fact. No lasting damage done, but it would have been nice to be able to go down and maybe get our room changed to one on a lower floor where we weren't lying in bed wondering if we were going to be soaked in the bed too.

the location is great! Next to the El Sardinero beach, most sightseeing places and very close to the city centre (we walked through the Pombo train tunnel or old Tetuán tunnel to the city centre and it took us max 20 min). There is basically no staff in the hotel - we got keys handed in and where told to get in and out ourselves which was fine with us. The hotel is a little 'tired' but we were there only 1 night, so it didn't bother us. A lot of antique furniture, pictures, even an old telephone exchange - the thing you don't see often nowadays! The breakfast was very simple (filter coffee, not much choice for food, just essentials) but again, we were there only 1 night, so it was ok. Being honest, I would not stay in the hotel again. But if your main priority is the location, it's a great place then.

    breakfast and 'tired' interior

Very individual decor, attractive style. Excellent location for the beach some distance from the main attractions. Ability to make own drinks in the sitting room.

    The room was very small.

Room location was within the attic space which was well laid out but if you are tall, be aware you may struggle with the angle of the ceilings. Room was spacious as was the bathroom & very clean.

Didn't understand why there was a mini fridge in the bathroom?

This is a little gem of a hotel. Perfect for a short stay. I did 3 nights. Yes its quirky, yes the room I had was small as was the balcony , yes the breakfast is a bit samey but the welcome and helpfulness from Rachael on reception was excellent. The hotel is a 3 min walk from a beautiful beach and a promenade. There are restaurants and cafes close by . If you want to go into the centre or to the port its a 35 min walk. I walked there one day, its mainly flat and along the coast its an enjoyable walk. Taxi to the centre varied between 8 and 12 Euros and taxis are plentiful. Lovely terrace to sit on at the front of the hotel and access to a kitchen for unlimited help yourself coffee and tea. Good wifi throughout. The place is very clean and the lady who cleans was lovely. The evening receptionist was also friendly and helpful. Jesus was on breakfast duty and was also lovely. Thank you all for looking after me, Sally xx
