How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. No kettle to make tea or coffee, so we had to get it from the café downstairs. Obviously, it's just a way to make money. The worst thing, though, and it won't be a surprise-The Bathroom (if you could call it that, because it's really just a glass box in the bedroom) It offers very little privacy for both people when the other is looking after themselves. We have fully separate bathrooms in our homes for a reason. Once again, it's obviously a cost saving measure to fit in more rooms. But it makes for an unpleasant experience. I really hope this is something that can be changed back to the old format in the future.

The room I stayed with my husband was very tight. The double bed could only be accessed from one side so one of us had to climb over the other to get up from the bed.

Sliding door would not lock and when staff were notified, they could not resolve and didn't resolve over the course of our stay. Same thing for the safe - would not work and problem was not resolved.

Bit high on the price for the hotel itself but I booked it quite late and also seemed a busy period.

The cleanliness was not very good, neither in the room, the terrasse or the lobby. The bathroom area was over flooded every time we used the shower - probably because of a construction flaw which resulted in water coming in the room… we addressed this problem with the staff but it couldn’t be fixed…

The room/bed was much smaller than on the photos, I had to climb through the other person to get into the bed. Not comfortable.

A bathroom without a proper door is a huge buzz-kill and takes away the privacy you really want when going about your business. It looks nice in pictures but it is incredibly inconvenient and uncomfortable.

Verified reviewThe toilet is 1,5 meters away from the bed, only separated by a glass. This type of setup should be made clear during the reservation. It ruined my stay and I do not think is an acceptable standard given the price. Also be mindful this is not a hotel despite de price, is a guest house (see picture with the P symbol for "pension").

Basic amenities you expect to find in hotel rooms missing. Eg Mini fridge, kettle, phone, even the sink isn’t in the bathroom. The location is close to the far end of the beach, plenty of cafes/bars etc nearby. It is however quite a walk to Cetro. Only a single elevator, for all guests! For what we paid, it was a bit disappointing.

Verified reviewOnce we learned the window needed to be shut, the AC was great. The reception staff was excellent. Location for walking to the beach and foos establishments was great.
We did not like having a disabled room, nor the shower without a curtain as glass spewed water all over the bathroom floor and made a mess - we did not have enough towels to keep it dry. The room was very dark and had poor lighting.

Space - very small on room, no space for case and limited space to store clothes ect. More in-room facilities such as kettle. Bathroom layout poor - little privacy if you were travelling with friends rather than in a couple. Perhaps a curtain that could be pulled across the glass? Lights were an issue. If you need to use the toilet in the middle of the night, there is no option for a small nightlight in the toilet. The whole room has to be lit up which isn’t great for the other person in the room.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel, in a nice part of town, opposite lovely cafes and small bars, close to the beach. The room is a high standard, too. The staff couldn't be more helpful, ordering taxi etc.. highly recommend this hotel if you want to be on the quiet side of town.
There are no coffee facilities in the room. You have to go downstairs to the coffee shop. I found the pillow to be thin and low quality, in my opinion.

Verified reviewRoom was great. Staff were excellent. Location good but a long way from the main attractions (the Old Town) and a little expensive on that basis (we could have stayed a lot closer to the Old Town for the same cost). Our mistake and we’ll know for next time.
