Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe hotel is about 100 years old and the furniture is not the newest, but we appreciated our room because it was pretty big, bright and everything was clean and tidy. The bed was huge and really comfortable, which is one of the things that matter most to us. The floors made a creaking sound almost every time you set foot on them, which we believe is quite understandable given how old the building is, sometimes making us feel like the people above our room and the ones in the hallway were in the same room as us. However, these were only minor inconveniences. What we actually found unacceptable was the fact that every morning, we found (almost) dead cockroaches on our shower and bathroom floors. We informed the staff about this matter - they knew the cockroaches were coming up the drains and were using some solution to kill them - and the cleaning team did a great job making sure they disappeared while we were out of the room; unfortunately, they kept coming back every morning. This made us think that there is a problem with the drainage system, which should be carefully assessed by the owners before renting the property to anyone.
We stayed at Hotel Neguri for 10 nights in the beginning of August. The hotel is situated in a great location, very close to the beach, as well as a metro station, which were the main reasons for booking it. We were pleased to see that even though we asked about air conditioning and they informed us they did not have any, our room was provided with a fan (I am not sure if every room has one, it was just a nice touch). The staff was lovely and always happy to help and the cleaning team carefully made up out room every single day. The hotel is about 100 years old and the furniture is not the newest, but we appreciated our room because it was pretty big, bright and everything was clean and tidy. The bed was huge and really comfortable, which is one of the things that matter most to us.

FranceOverall, it is extremely noisy and you hear both the non stop cars from the road next to the hotel and other peoples rooms (to the point where you cannot sleep even if not a light sleeper). Then also the cleanliness could be improved and rooms could include a kettle tea/coffee and glasses for guests.
The staff was nice and the hotel is well located (you can easily reach Bilbao or other neighbouring towns with the metro) and includes parking

FinlandIn the room I hoped there would have been a dimmer reading light or something to make it look a bit softer after sunset - the lights were bright and somehow didn’t feel like fitting in.
The room was spacious and the bathroom clean and roomy. The old house has its charm.

GermanyThere is no air conditioning in the room and a really, really loud street directly in front of the building. So you can either sleep with windows closed and sweat or sleep with open windows and have cars, trucks and motorcycles extremely loudly rush directly beside your bed. We were really tired after 3 days not sleeping well. So if noise is an important aspect for you, this might not be the right hotel for you, or at least not a street-facing room.
This is a nice historic building close to the metro station. The staff was very nice, the breakfast good and the coffee excelent! The room itself was fine.

Abkhazia, GeorgiaThe room had a slopping roof in the middle that was in the way and you had to walk bent over. The wardrobe was coming apart. The shower was too small and couldn't move in it without opening the doors. I don't think the room was worth the money.
The location was excellent. Very friendly staff including the cleaner who was lovely and chatty.

United KingdomThe bathroom needed an upgrade but bearing in mind the recent pandemic this was forgiven. There was variety at breakfast, the produce was fresh and the coffee great but it was exactly the same every day for one week, some additions would have been nice.

United KingdomThe only draw back is the road noise from the room we were in. However we closed the window/door and shutter and were so tired we slept without any problem.
A lovely old building with traditional features and modern facilities. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. There was a small fridge with water and a desk fan to keep us cool. (taken note of previous comments.) The host was friendly and we used google translate to communicate. It was conveniently located for a stroll to the promenade. It is only a 2star hotel so you shouldn’t be expecting grandeur, we liked it.
