Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDespite telling them my eta my room wasn’t ready when I arrived. The A/C did not work. The shutter was broken. There is no water in the “kitchen” so you must get it from the shared bathroom The WiFi is awful 😞
Location was excellent for my needs.

ItalyThe shared bathroom was clogged by the other tenants and the owners had the courage to ask me for money. Don’t even think for a second to book this apartment.

United KingdomNO toilet paper or hand soap in bathroom! The shared bathroom with strangers was a very challenging experience . Lightbulbs missing in bathroom and balcony, with electrical wires hanging loose. NO fire alarms no fire evacuation information and no smoke detectors, we felt unsafe during our stay plus we were on the 7th floor. No lighting on the stairways and stairwells. Pealing wallpaper in multiple places, chipped paintwork throughout the room and the communal areas. So called “tea and coffee facilities” were one coffee pod machine with NO pods provided, no tea making facilities. Other guests were smoking in their rooms and despite requests to the managers to remind them this is not allowed no action was taken. NO mattress protector and the sheets where to small for the bed, worn out and threadbare. The air conditioning was poor to useless. No ceiling fans when the outside temperature was 30 C resulting in a poor sleep experience. I couldn’t recommend this property!

CanadaIt said we had a balcony, but they did not give us access or the key for it. One of the beds did not have sheets. Only the top blanket. I pulled open the blanket and found the mattress with not sheets at all. Terrible place to stay. What a scam. S elect another hotel/hostel.

United KingdomCheck-in was very frustrating. You will need plenty of charge on your phone for accessing Internet messages and making phone calls as they unlock the building and flat automatically from an office. You are then given a code to unlock a key-box for your room. There is no reception or face to face contact as it is a residential building. Walls between apartments are very thin, so you can hear everything in next-door room limiting privacy.
The view is spectacular. The best thing about the accommodation. Good location, not far to train station and town centres, old and new. WiFi is good. There is a communal area with a microwave, fridge, plates/ crockery, etc, and coffee machine, but no kettle or area to wash dishes. You also need to buy pods for coffee machine.

ArmeniaIt’s little difficult to reach room cause you need to download application and open the door with it but once you’re done with it you can see the beautiful scene to the city from the cosy and really beautiful balcony. We loved the room and the view.

AustriaThis accommodation is neither a hotel nor an airbnb. It is a 4 room apartment students would share including that you hear every word of your neighbour. The access is complicated - we had to download an app. Finally you get keys, but the room and bathroom doors open very badly. You have to try several times with a lot of noise. The locker system seems to be half rotten. We had to share the bathroom with another room (what was not announced - we got an email at 6 a.m. in the night of our stay like if it had been mentioned in the announcement!! And even in the apartment we had doubtable signs at least declaring the bathroom as only ours, even if it is unacceptable to cross the public corridor to get to the toilet at night. Toilet paper was hidden in the closet of the room. But there were no hangers in the closet. There was only one central lamp making light as in an emergency room. Besides the bed, there was one poor chair, no table or desc. And the cleaning was definitely not perfect. In the public area was a micro waver and some kitchen facilities for all the guests of all 4 rooms!!!! The apartment is managed by an agency in Malaga. Contact only works via mail. There is an emergency number but no-one answers as the expect bad news. The price was far too high! We had other hotels in the region with far better standard for less money
The only good thing was the view on the old town (but you could only get to the window by moving away an extra bed) - also the bed was good, but very small for 2 persons - and the dress is next to the center

SpainWe arrived late because we had car trouble. The code we were given to open the bedroom door was not working so we were stranded outside the room for hours. We messaged, emailed and called. Their voice mail said in emergencies, to leave a message. No one responded until the following morning. It took 2 people 2 hours to eventually unlock the door. ABSOLUTELY do not stay here. Very poor costumer service. It was also very noisy. Walls paper thin. Can hear a pin drop in the other guest rooms
It's hard to find a positive when the entire experience was so unpleasant
