Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise transferrance is quite bad, you can hear everything from other rooms, from snooring to everything else, pretty uncomfortable, so although it was a good room and clean, it's a shame the noise transgerrence as it makes the stay uncomfortable.

IrelandThe mattress cover was plastic and unbreathable the kind you get in a hospital, makes you quite sweaty. Other than that no issues.
Comfortable room, friendly staff; nice large bathroom. The value for money and location questions are subjective; it was quite expensive in comparison with all other places we stayed at during our trip across northern Spain, but if compared with prices closer to the city, it was relatively cheap.

CroatiaThe room was fine, but the elevator was not working, that was unlucky. The position is ok to visit San Sebastian by car, or one can use a bus which stops nearby. We used the car and found a spot in an inexpensive garage in the center. The parking was quite full, but we managed to find a spot. Overall a good experience. Peaceful at night.

New ZealandThe parking situation was the major issue, as spots reserved for hotel guests were frequently taken by unauthorized vehicles—particularly those from the Loyola Norte company—with no intervention from the hotel. Once parked, we were essentially stuck unless we wanted to risk losing the spot. The hotel is located in a rundown industrial area, which detracts from the overall atmosphere. Sound insulation was poor, allowing noise from neighboring rooms, including snoring and flushing toilets/showering, to be clearly heard. The kitchenette lacked essential utensils like a spatula, chopping board, or drying rack, limiting its usefulness. The room design was awkward, with no desk and an oversized couch occupying valuable space in the kitchen area. Additionally, the shower water temperature fluctuated unpredictably, and the air-conditioning unit emitted an unpleasant smell.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, making them the standout feature of the hotel. We had access to a fully equipped gym and a kitchenette that included a quality induction hot plate along with basic cookware and dishware. The room also featured effective blackout European-style shutters, which helped with light control. The bathroom was large, with sufficient shelving for toiletries and a good shower. The hotel was well connected to central San Sebastián via the BU13 bus, which is affordable (~€2 each way pp cash) and easily accessible. A very large Samsung smart TV with a preloaded Netflix account added a convenient touch for in-room entertainment.

UkraineThe only real downside was the parking. There were very few available spaces.
My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped, with a large TV and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Everything was in good condition and worked as expected. The hotel is located in what seems to be a converted warehouse or former industrial building, which gives it a slightly unusual atmosphere.

United KingdomHowever, the location was really sketchy, when we arrived we didn't know where the hotel was - it looked like a warehouse. The hotel was also very expensive for the value, so overall not the best.
The beds were comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful with questions and water from the tap was good! Overall the hotel itself inside was pretty good, including the bathroom - had a spacious shower and blue led lights.

FranceThe hotel uses a very strong cleaning product, we asked to wash the floor with water when we arrived because it was impossible to stay in the room. It didn’t help and we had to wash the floor and all the surfaces with water twice to make it better. But we still had allergic cough for 2 days. We were 4 people and everyone had the same reaction. Something must be done about this!
Staff was friendly

United KingdomWould have been nice to have drink making facilities in the room. There are only vending machines for food and drinks, so we had to go out - still it made us explore the local area, which is no bad thing.
Unusual setup situated on the top two floors of a warehouse/industrial units, but it worked really well. The room was a good size, very clean, with a comfortable bed and good shower/bathroom. AC worked well as did the bathroom heater (odd to need both but it was hot when we arrived and a lot cooler later). All the staff were very helpful. The wifi was excellent. Breakfast was a little basic, coffee, orange juice and either muffins or toast, but it seemed to work. Excellent secure bicycle storage.

ItalyThe exterior is not "hotel like", but it's very nice on the inside. Parking available but very confused, instructions unclear. Air conditioning was pointed directly on the people that slept on the sofa. Persistent blue light in the bathroom.
We appreciated it as a convenient location for a intermediate stop, in a quiet neighborhood. Very nice staff.
