For us no problem but there was no elevator.

Super nice property in center and close to monastery. Nice room with an outside terrace and comfortable bathroom. Good pillows and bed. Had a parking garage where we could store our bicycles securely. Owner very friendly and explained where we could eat and what was a must see in the monastery.

The parking was a bit tight but thats everywhere in Spain.

Very friendly staff, close to everything, Ignacio took the time to explain everything and recommended restaurants that served at all hours, not just spanish time.

A little noise from the hallway when other travelers were coming/going.

Staff was amazingly helpful and shared great information about the area and where to hike, eat, and other activities. My room had access to a beautiful balcony. The bathroom was lovely and the bed was very comfortable in my large room.

The fact that the posada did not provide breakfast had been made clear at the time of booking, and the owner made up for this lack by providing details of nearby places where we could buy a breakfast.

Our room was lovely with lots of period features, including a tapestry above the bed. The hotel owner was very helpful and provided useful recommendations of places to eat and how to do what we planned to do.

Loved everything. However, if you have mobility issues, note there are stairs and an uphill walk.

Everything. Beautiful grand house, beautifully appointed, scrupulously clean, comfortable bed. Positively gorgeous bathroom, walk-in closet, delightful terrace. Ideal location, quiet but super-convenient, smashing views. Amazing value. I never rate anything at maximum, but I make an exception for this.

    Nothing really.

Hotel is right in the centre of El Escorial which is set in the mountains in beautiful countryside just outside Madrid. the town is a bit of a tourist trap but is a nice place with Philip II's palace and a lot of very pretty countryside around. The owner was very friendly and helpful and had a list of the sights to see and a guide to the best restaurants. His suggested walk up to a viewpoint was quite long and hard but well worth it. You could see the town, the palace and all the way back to Madrid, 25 miles away.
