Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very nice looking house and garden. House was character and clean Bed was comfortable, room and en suite toilet were clean. Good value for money.

This was a very affordable guesthouse near Santillana del Mar. We took a bus from right in front of the property to get into town. (note that the property faces a busy road, but is set back a bit, although you will hear some traffic noise). The breakfast was good, and it was right near our Camino walking route. The host was very accommodating for our arrival and departure.

We arrived soaking wet and cold after cycling hours in heavy rain and there was nowhere to dry clothes ( except hairdryer!)
Breakfast good and filling ( but croissants would have been welcome). The host Recommended Bar el Quinta which was excellent though it would have been nice to know what time they started serving food.

No access to a fridge (either in the room or communal area) or ice. Wifi was spotty on the top floor. Breakfast is fairly basic.
Authentic old inn. 3-bed room is very spacious. Wonderful stay, we'd love to return! Easy instructions to check in. Clean and comfortable.

All was just fine, maybe we got the room on the attic and there were only stairs, not ideal, for people with bad knees.

We had no idea what a posada was but it worked well for us. coffee or tea facilities would have been great

The location is fine if you have a car. Parking in Santillana when we visited in the evening was quite difficult and would probably be even more difficult in the high season so if you were planning on spending your evenings in Santillana it would probably be better to stay within walking distance. But the hotel was nice, the room of good size and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good

The location was excellent being only about 14 miles from the ferry terminal at Santander. Beautiful old house with easy parking and lovely garden Superb continental breakfast Very comfy beds with great shower and bath Beatriz and her Dad (who met us) were very helpful and informative and spoke good English

We struggled to find the accommodation in the dark and perhaps more directions to the Posada would have helped
The room facilities were good and had a high standard of cleanthliness. We arrived after the reception was closed but were given precise directions on how to access the accommodation which was really helpful.
