Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaVery pleasant experience in a very picturesque area. The rooms are cozy and quiet, and the view from the balcony was outstanding! As we headed to the Camino de Hierro early in the morning, the host prepared breakfast for us to take with us. Would stay again!

GermanyCan't think of a thing!
This isn't a hotel to stop at on the way, it is out of the way, but that is what makes it so special. The accomadations are simple but well maintained and clean. The house and public areas are full of collectables and presented with love. A feast for the eyes. The view onto the Duoro and wine mountains is simply spectacular. My husband was under the weather so we did not have the chance to explore the area but felt quite comfortable being lazy around the pool area for the day. The dinners and breakfasts were home made, delicious and were very inexpensive. The local wine was also offered at a very fair price. So glad we went out of the way to find this place.

DenmarkDinner was a bit of a disappointment, and served at the usual Spanish time of 20:30, which is too late for most nationalities. And as it is quite a drive to the nearest town and restaurant, one is somewhat dependent on dinner here.
A wonderful location by the river Duero / Duro with vultures flying overhead from their roosts on the cliffs that can be seen from the hotel. The hotel cats were very friendly, as was the owner / manager.

NetherlandsSolid deep-cleaning of the room would totally bring the place to 10/10.
Absolutely magical place! The views are stunning, the whole building and the garden have a unique ambiance and the food, both breakfasts and dinners are both filling and delicious. Even in the summer heat the room and the garden are relaxing and keep a cool temperature. It's an amazing place to escape to as well as visit the gorgeous lookouts towards the river Duero valley.

PortugalWe didn't like the fact that we were only here for one night.... there was so much to see...
It was beyond our expectations, love the fact the was dawn when we arrived and there was soft "fado" music playing. the perfect picture!! Loved every moment form the music to the decorations and the gentleman from the staff. We strongly recommend eating here, the dinner was amazing, for me personally there is nothing better than to sit down and don't have to choose from a endless menu list. jus trust the chef. My wife doesn't like fish and even that was not a problem the chef was kind enough to make a special vegetable dish. Top rating for that small attention.

IrelandI prefer to have my main meal of the day at lunchtime, I don't eat much breakfast or dinner, but the hotel does not offer anything to eat during the day so I had to change my eating habits quite a bit, and as a result I over ate and felt heavy most of the time. The food was delicious though. I anticipated there being a bar fridge in the room but sadly there was not.
Spectacular views from our room terrace, delicious breakfast (I loved the cheese spreads), lovely areas in and around the hotel to sit and enjoy the views.

AustraliaBed wasn’t the most comfortable especially when sharing with a partner. Bathroom was a bit smelly but improved after we plugged all the drains. Breakfast was quite simple and there wasn’t a place to make tea or coffee outside of breakfast but can’t complain as the price was fair.
Detoured to stay here for the views and they did not disappoint. The property has a really cute garden and vibe. The owner was kind and stayed up late to check us in when we arrived later than expected. From memory, the room was not advertised with AC but it had one and it was super cold
