How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We would also like to mention that for some time now we have been making an extra effort to offer a better breakfast, and we are delighted that this has been the case. On the other hand, the hotel does not have air conditioning, which is something that is stated in the hotel room descriptions on Booking. Instead, we have fans in all rooms. It took exactly 1 hour to book in from a person finally arriving at the desk to getting the room key. All my info was sent by Booking.com! Had to swear that we wouldn't smoke in or near the hotel (we're no smokers!) Small bed. No spare pillow (just one tube for two people). No Aircon. WiFi was slow. No view. Walls are so thin I could hear first TV's, then showers and toilets, then people snoring on each side of me. Long walk to the old town. Almost everything presented for breakfast was wrapped in plastic. Motorbike parking cost €10

Firstly, the time it takes to check-in varies from a couple of minutes to 5 minutes depending on the check-ins before you, or the time it takes to park your car in the Hotel car park. But never an hour as you say but it is totally false. The information Booking gives us about you is only your name and telephone number. We, according to Spanish law, are obliged to register the following data: Name and Surname, country identification number, age, your home address, telephone number, nationality and country of residence. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the Hotel due to the Hotel's own rules and it is also by Spanish law and you are simply informed of this. You requested a double bed, it is an extra that the Hotel offers if available. In her case, we were able to give her a room with a double bed, the measurements of which are standard, i.e. 135 cm wide by 190 cm long. Your room is right next to one of the WiFi repeaters and your connection was perfectly fast. However, if you had reported it, a solution could have been found. On the other hand, the hotel does not have air conditioning, it is something that is put in the characteristics of the hotel rooms in Booking. Instead we have fans in all rooms. You also complain for no reason about the appearance of the pillow, if you had requested it we would have provided you with extra pillows, without any problem. And finally, we have a closed car park on the hotel premises. From Monday to Thursday it is an ‘extra’ service that we offer totally free for our clients (subject to availability) and it is not possible to reserve a parking space. From Friday to Sunday it costs 10 euros per day and car. You parked two motorbikes in the Hotel car park and we only charged you for one. The Hotel made an exception without your request and we did not charge you for the two motorbikes as we should have done. The Hotel is located 10-12 minutes from the centre of Salamanca, which makes it ideal for visiting the historic centre, avoiding the noise and affluence of the city centre. We are also located 5 minutes walk from the Vialia train station. Many of our clients, in fact, highlight that about our Hotel, so again, your comment does not make much sense. Verified reviewRoom was big, hit my head on the very low headboards, you can park the car under the hotel for 10 euros, not a lot of parking spaces on the road, gets full up very quickly.
Found it very hard to find somewhere to eat.

Told by staff we wouldn't have to pay for parking on our motorcycles because we didn't take any bays up and were given a 'cheese wedge' ares to park. Got charged 20 Euro the next day by another member of staff. The cheese wedge parking also damaged my mirror, which is around £500, replaced as it's a very expensive motorcycle (Ducati). Also hot at night with no air con.

No elevator but staff carried my bag. Breakfast was packaged carbohydrates. And the worse coffee I've had in a month in Portugal. The hardest was just finding the hotel. Even with maps, the hotel is hard to find. It's not at the address given. It's inside a courtyard, in a corner, around the street corner from the hotel. I was very stressed finding it.
