How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

No fridge in the room.

Verified reviewA welcoming independent rural hotel in a stunning location. The hotel is a bit quirky, but is very comfortable and the owners are very hospitable. The food and drinks are all sourced locally (apart from seafood), are all extremely well prepared and presented, although the portions are large.
It is worth noting that the location of the hotel means you have to walk up a steep footpath from the village square before reaching the entrance steps to the hotel; once at the hotel, the staff are very helpful with the luggage.

Verified reviewThe staff were amazing. Friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a miscommunication about dinner. We didn't book. They were full. They sorted it out and we had an amazing meal. They dealt with it with charm and grace.
The only issue we had was getting there. It is an old mountain village and getting in was tricky. Not sure if it was their directions. Google maps or my older person's take on it all but it was very stressful.

Verified reviewGreat atmospheric place with a historical feel. Lovely breakfast.
Left my massager gun there. I'm hoping to get back at some point. As a climber it's becoming an essential bit of kit.

Verified reviewThe room is cozy and tastefully furnished. - The view of the mountains from the room as well as the restaurant is beautiful. - Breakfast was excellent with delicious croissants, bread and a wide range of salami cold cuts etc. - We enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service at the restaurant. - There are plenty of free parking spots just a short walk away.
In my opinion the restaurant is too noticeable from the room. A separating wall/door at the base of the stairs case would probably be an easy fix for this.

Verified reviewLovely small and private hotel in a charming small town with epic views into the montains - staff on arrival were very attentive and showed us the room where we stayed - room had a very effective AC usnit which we needed after the epic almost cliff like ascent we had to make from the car park down below - this is somerying that needs to be considered if you dont like steep climbs but we soon recovered and cooled down in the comfortable room
While the location is fantastic it does come with a price and that is the climb up to it if you DON'T manage to park in the tiny roads around the hotel - just be aware that it's steep and in the heat of summer could be off putting - however the room and hotel are very comfortable

Verified reviewRoom is as advertised, jacuzzi preheated and everything clean and functional. The location is great as long as you are comfortable walking just a few minutes to the front door.
We happened to be staying around the festive seasons, the hotel has a restaurant (was literally right next door to our room) and people stayed celebrating until past 01:30, which destroyed our sleep. The owner was kind enough to reimburse us with around €20, however this does not justify the inconvenience. In my opinion the room should not be available for rent during such period.

Verified reviewOne of the best places we have ever stayed. Perfect for exploring the area and amazing geology, but what a bonus this hotel becomes. Old traditional hotel but modern facilities inside. Staff so helpful, and unbelievable food. We are not foodies but the food was very special, huge portions, delightful food .
Parking is down hill but you can drive to town square to drop luggage off, minor issue.

Verified reviewThis posada is exceptional. Not only are the rooms beautiful and comfortable, in a heritage building in a picturesque village, but I would like to heap praise on the owners. There is a superb restaurant in the lower floor of the posada, but we didn't realise that it was closed on Sunday evening (when we arrived) and there were no other places to eat or supermarkets open at that time in the small town. The owners promptly offered to open the restaurant up just for us! And proceeded to serve us the best food that we ate in the whole of our time in Spain. Huge portions, simple but exceptional food, locally sourced ingredients, absolutely delicious, with fantastic service. And, we found out later, this was despite the couple having worked the previous day from 5am to 2am... unbelievably kind and generous of them to do this for us. We want to say a huge 'thank you' - and I hope that lots of people will stay at the posada after reading this review.

Verified reviewI had an amazing stay here. I was solo motorcycle touring in the area and I was made very welcome. The hosts are lovely. I had a room with an amazing view of the Riglos. Dinner was excellent and their wines are all from a local winery 10 minutes away. My stay here was a highlight of the trip and I'll make a point of coming back. I parked my motorbike on the street outside the hotel and it felt perfectly safe there.
Nothing. Just a warning that Google maps has the hotel in the wrong location. I was riding my bike up lots of tiny little streets looking for the hotel. If you're in car you might be best to park at the bottom of the town (ask the hosts for advice).

Verified reviewThe staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our room looked out to Riglos de Mallos which is what we had hoped for. There is a small communal balcony where you can sit to enjoy the view. The Hotel has lots of character and charm. We were lucky enough to get a free parking space in the church square, so we didn't have far to walk to the Hotel. However it was a steep walk up the hill but not too far. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the meal was fabulous. Be careful what you order as the portions are ENORMOUS. We were warned by the waitress. The chef is very good. We didn't have breakfast there as we felt it was rather expensive.
The only moan is that we ordered 2 glasses of house wine when we arrived, and they charged us €5 a glass. We live in the south of Spain and don't pay that in Malaga!! We think this was a rip off. On our 3 week trip through the north of Spain we never paid anything more than €3 per glass, including San Sebastian.
The bottle of the requested wine sells for €22. 5 glasses come out of a bottle. The price of all the wines is stated in the menu that was provided to you. Continental breakfast served at a table costs €12, very adjusted to the great variety offered.

Verified reviewMaria and Carlos could not have done more to make our stay any better. Great food, very comfortable, lovely situation in a lovely hilltop town under the spectacular Mallos de Riglos, with great views. Great welcome after our last and longest walking day, from probably the kindest man in Spain. Carlos offered to drive us to the local rail station for our trip to Zagagoza, and when he found out about the works going on there, and replacement bus, he drove us to Huesca, AND sorted out bus tickets to Zaragoza from there for us. Service and care above and beyond any we expected.
That we were only staying one night, and not walking a bit further towards Loarre and returning to stay at Posada del Liena longer.
