Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaNothing.
Nice hotel off the Camino by a few kilometers. The road to Isar from the Camino is not pedestrian friendly, but they will pick you up and drop you off, which is a huge bonus. Nice little bar, and the restaurant served an excellent dinner and breakfast. Quiet spot, good alternative to those in Hornillos.

United StatesWi-Fi was nonexistent in rooms, barely there in the hallway. Property is in a quiet town with no grocery or cafe, which isn’t a problem if you stock up in advance. Free transportation is offered but an early start time (6:30) was firmly rejected- 7:00 was the earliest possible. This is a problem for anyone trying to beat the heat.
Room was quiet and clean. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. Owner offers free transportation to/ from the Camino in Hornillos.

IrelandI walked the Camino from Burgos to Hornillos. After completing the stage around lunchtime I stopped for a beer with other pilgrims. We were having a good time talking and laughing. The pilgrim meal in Isar isn’t served until 7pm so I really had no reason to go there for many hours. I’d much rather have stayed talking with my friends. I got a phone call from an angry sounding man in Spanish demanding I confirm my name and give him my whereabouts. He said he was coming to get me. This is about 2pm. I was confused because I had not requested a lift or made any agreement about what time I’d get to the accommodation. I asked a Spanish speaking friend to call the number back, which he did. But he couldn’t get any explanation except that the man was coming to pick me up. He was there three minutes later and I was stuck in Isar for the rest of the afternoon and evening because it was too hot to walk back. I still don’t understand what happened.
The property was fine. There were only two other guests and literally nothing else to do in the town, but it’s July so I understand not much happens in the heat.

United KingdomToo far off the Camino route. Felt isolated - no shop/cafe. Nothing to do, so stuck in the room from early afternoon until 7:30 the next morning. We were picked up by shuttle bus from Hornillos del Camino and returned the next morning. Didn’t like to bother the owner/employee for extra drives in and out as he was the only worker in the place serving in the bar etc. We didn’t eat here, even though there was nowhere else to eat we didn’t get good vibes and preferred not to eat here. There didn’t seem to be a chef on the premises. The owner/employee seemed to be a jack of all trades, and he said the menu was salad, or salad (egg, or ham). Mould on the bath, and a wooden panel stuck on with tape to the plastic panel as a repair job. (See photos). Reasonably priced accommodation but I would have paid double for something better on the main route.

United StatesI loved, not liked, sharing great conversation with locals and the owner and learning about the regional wines. Miguel, the owner, is an amazing person. His food was right up my alley, simple and great tasting. I am not difficult so I went with what he gave me but he also said he had some other options for vegetarian people. Miguel is not just the center of the town but he is also guide for people who want to learn about the region.

United StatesWe stayed in the front bedroom of the property which exceptionally hot. There were items that required maintenance in the bedroom we stayed which were normal up keep. The toilet was not bolted to the floor on one side causing it to tip when using. It also allowed a sewage smell to escape making it difficult to sleep. The rest of the building didn’t smell of sewage so it was unique to our room. We also could not shower because the glass shower partition wall was no longer in place.
The owner was extremely nice and accommodating driving us to the Camino starting point in the morning which was 3 KM away. The dinner was good.
