How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt's in a perfect location, the room was very comfortable and clean. Even though the man at the reception didn't speak english, he was very friendly and helpful and with Google Translate we managed :) My daughters loved the beautiful cat that belongs to the hotel!

Verified reviewThere was a large and beautiful park across the street, and it's right in the neighborhood of the downtown buildings. They also have a nice cat. There is a good japanese/ramen place nearby.
The carpet up the stairs was dingy and the stairwell just was depressing, like there wasn't care put into it. It felt old and yukky compared to the other places we have been staying... all budget hotels and hostels. The reception area had cluttered tables with random things, like Christmas things even though it is July. It was ok, but not a place you walk in and feel like people care about it. The hall to our room was narrow and devoid of decoration so you felt like you were going down a tunnel. For the price, I expected a lot more. The real problem we had was that our room looked into a dirty and decrepit space that was between the entry stairway and other rooms, apparently open above, so the view was of dirty walls and other people's windows and the stairwell. There was no curtain and lights shone in all night so we put our sweaters over our eyes to sleep and undressed and changed in the bathroom. There were also mosquitos and we both got bit up through the night, and a pigeon in the bathroom window woke us up at dawn. In all fairness, when I talked to the man at reception about there being no curtains in the morning, he said there was a blind, and indeed there was a barely visible cord on the side of the window, that, had I seen it, would have lowered a blind down outside the window. Regardless, I didn't see it and we weren't comfortable in the room. I was booked for three nights and he was unwilling to reimburse me for two nights or even make some kind of deal because we were leaving. It was a total waste of money... that was one of the most expensive hotels of our trip and it was by far the worst. He said that because it was through Booking there was no negotiating, I had to pay for all three nights. We bit it financially because we were so glad to get out of there and back to our happy, healthy, and beautiful Spain experience. It cost me over $200 but leaving was worth it. We were eager to leave Oviedo after that experience.

Verified reviewI recommend this hotel, it is a 5 minute walk from the old town Cathedral etc. A 10 minute walk from train station and bus station, Facing Parque de San Francisco. And close to the centre of Ovideo. The staff were very friendly, and answered my questions. So it's a 10/10. From me , no complaints.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, a short walk to the old town. It's more of a hostel than a hotel, and I waited for a long time for someone to come to check me in; when she arrived, she was very anxious to please, but the whole thing, including discussion with a manager about which room I should have, took an inordinately long time.

Everything was fine. It wasn't a luxury hotel but it was great value in a great location.

Verified reviewLocation is the main/only reason to choose this hotel Right across from the parque and very close to the highlight of Oviedo
We felt like the receptionist didn't expect us and had to select a spare room. We ended up next to the reception. The room was quite dusty, The bathroom/shower had some dirt in the bowls. Towels had stains and loose threads. On top of this it was very noisy and we could clearly hear conversations at the reception. Also doors slamming, walking on higher floors and some adult 'entertainment' were loud and clear...

The property was dated, a bit still in the 1970/80s. Very little facilities.
