How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It would have been great to have tea facilities in the room instead of at reception, but it was good we could access them whenever.
Staff were friendly, facilities were simple but we had an awesome room with a great view of the sea and a bath! Lovely that they leave a little bag of pastries for breakfast in the morning. Tea and coffee machine available all day. And the location was amazing.

Pictures might be a little deceiving, the room was very small and hard to move around it with a suitcase, fortunately I had a room with a balcony so I was able to stretch outside. The bathroom was part of the room and very small, toilet in a room with no ventilation.
Staff were great, nice touch with the pastry bag with water every morning, really appreciated that

The bathroom door didn't shut the whole way which didn't give much privacy
Great location, right by the central market, 10 mins from beach, 10 mins from old town. Clean and comfortable room.

Location was fantastic and made it easy to walk everywhere. We loved the little breakfast bag on the door handle every morning!

Room is a bit smaller than expected - but rooms are different. Very slow elevator for 8 levels building. We found private parking nearby, but streets are narrow and there is no room for car outside the hotel even for short stop.
Clean decent hotel at fantastic location. Pleasant surprise - mini breakfast pack in the mornings. Smart TV, you can log in to your Netflix from phone. Room had mini fridge, very convenient. There is free coffee machine on the ground floor.

They forgot to include the hand towel, so I used the one that was on the bag. It would be good if they spray an insecticide to eliminate mosquitos. I was not aware of the type of breakfast offered. It was good to get water though.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The air con was definitely really helpful.

Only downside was no hotel parking. But in a central location not always possible. Plenty of parking nearby.
Great central location. Staff very helpful. Free coffee and pastries/fruit were an added bonus.

The staff was not that friendly and their English was pretty bad..
The location was great! We also got a breakfast bag in the morning which was very cute.

Hotel undergoing renovation, so lobby was a bit messy. Lift is very slow. Corridor is very dark, with steps.

They checked us in a room that already had guests and blamed it on a new member of staff.
The room was spacious, beds comfortable and decent bathroom. Location is good as well

Silicone in the shower had black spots, definitely something to be changed more often. I would change desk for a small dining table.

The square below has a lot of bar and a little noisy at night. Room is a little limited.
Location is very good. Close to all the sites. Markets just below the hotel. Room are cozy. Has breakfast delivered to room handle and in elevator. Stuff is very friendly.

Lack of build quality, bathroom door didn't function well, would not stay closed. On going construction blocked the view and some noise. Ants in the room upon arrival. A/C had a bad smell.

The square outside can be a little noisy until 11 ish because of the location, but it's not rowdy - just a few outdoor cafe/restaurants. The convenience of the cafes makes up for the bit of noise!
I unfortunately arrived during the giant Spanish and Portuguese power outage, so there were some issues checking in, but given the circumstances, the staff were great in a difficult time with limited information. The location was outstanding on the square across from the central market, the rooms were decent and clean, and as the restaurant wasn't open, the staff delivered a bag of water and pastries each morning.
