Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The maids like to air out the bathroom and that lets insects in. The location is a couple turns off the main road, and Ride drivers have a hard time finding it. A new building is going up nearby so make sure your room faces the opposite way.
Nice to have a comfy bed and mini fridge. Free breakfasts were good. Laundry service was reasonably priced.

Really nice stay. Helpful staff, answered quickly to our questions in booking and booked a night transfer (for additional value). Good and comfortable facilities. Good breakfast.

The location was a little hard for taxi drivers to find. It would have been nicer if the window faced the street rather than the wall of the building next door. Also, the floor of the shower pod was a little slippery.
The place was clean and had all the basic amenities I needed—nothing fancy, but nothing missing either. Overall, it was great value for money, and I’d definitely come back again.

The property was clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. My room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offering great local tips and the quiet surroundings made it perfect for relaxing.
The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh fruits, juices, and delicious local options. Everything was well-prepared and beautifully presented.

There's nothing I would say I didn't like.
A very good hotel for a reasonable price. Great service, great staff, great location, great cleaning services and great breakfast. Very pleased with my stay here and would recommend to others especially it's being a very fairly priced hotel for amazing quality.

I have spent a full week here, and it has been a great experience. The stay was comfortable, the place felt safe, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. I will definitely be coming back again!

The bed in the hotel was very uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. We managed to stay for the nights we had booked, but eventually decided to leave and move to another hotel. The location is good. However, there seemed to be poor communication between the manager (who is in Ethiopia) and the owner (who is in the USA). We had booked two rooms for two people each, but as we were traveling with three people, we asked the owner to upgrade one of the rooms. The owner confirmed this upgrade. When we arrived, the manager was unaware of the arrangement and asked us to pay extra for the upgrade. We found this very unfriendly, as we had already confirmed the upgrade with the owner before our arrival. This is what I mean by a lack of communication.
The location is good. The breakfast is good.

The yelling from rooms and slamming of doors outside my door until 3am was the most extreme of any hotel I've ever stayed in. The bed was literally shaking I asked to change rooms after first night, but apparently it wasnt possible. Checked out early after second night For first time visitor in Addis, not good to get information or meet other Western travellers. The reception staff didnt seem to have much knowledge of Addis or enthusiasm to research

The hotel is a bit hidden in a area with some construction around it. It's not the greatest part of town, but it's perfectly fine. The shower leaked water and was a bit messy. Room was a bit cold because Addis is cold this time of year.
Very clean and professional hotel. I felt perfectly safe walking around, and there are good restaurants and juice bars and coffee shops within a 10 minute walk. Breakfast is fine, with some traditional Ethiopian options. Staff did a great job of getting me a taxi to the airport when I left. Only 15 minutes to the airport.

No room service for breakfast. But the lounge is really cozy so not a big deal.
Breakfast was simple, tasty and excellent 😋 The stuff is very friendly and extra helpful. Its very quiet in the bedrooms. No noise in the corridor so restful sleep. I recommend 👌🏾
