Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesWe were expecting to use the gym facilities, but we were told it was under construction and wouldn't be operational for a couple of months. The construction noise at times was a little annoying, but manageable otherwise everything was great!
The location of the hotel in the Bole area, was convenient to other venues we attended, the staff were very professional, courteous, accommodating, and extremely friendly. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant, and the customer service representative Melat, was very helpful, All the restaurant waiters were professional, friendly and accomodating during our meals, especially Mekdes, Nuhamin, and other restaurant staff, whose names I've forgotten. The housekeeping staff, bellmen and security Tomas were professional and friendly, as well as the front desk staff (Senait and others), including Lidiya & Melat, who went above and beyond their hotel duties, and helped me find a pharmacy one evening after work (we inadvertently met on the street one day) The entire hotel staff including management, made my wife and I feel as though we were a part of their extended family.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Sapphire Addis. The hotel is beautifully designed, with modern and spacious rooms that were spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The staff were genuinely welcoming, always going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.

South AfricaI didn't have hot water in my room for the first two nights - although I got the sense it was an exception and not a [lack of] maintenance norm. The rooms are slightly darker than expected. Not a lot of natural light but still enjoyable stay. Most of the facilities including the gym and pool are undergoing renovating but that was not communicated in our reservation until check-in.
Prompt team with a capable concierge and administrative team. Rooms are well-spaced, the breakfast is filling and they went out their way to assist us with our flight problems. Special mention to Heman who was a star throughout our stay.
