How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewReview of the HUB Hotel in Ethiopia I had an excellent stay at this hotel and I would like to express my complete satisfaction. The manager and the head of security do a remarkable job from start to finish. At the slightest issue, they are present, responsive, and caring. I am also very satisfied with the entire team, especially Mr. Gosaye Abdi , and I would like to warmly thank Abaynesh lemme , who is in charge of the rooms. She is a wonderful lady who takes care of guests like a mother. The hotel is very well located. Breakfast is complete, varied, and absolutely nothing is missing. The bed is very comfortable, and the room is spotless and very clean. Finally, I would like to commend the entire security team, who are simply amazing. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to enjoy a pleasant and worry-free stay.

Verified reviewBreakfast was great! The location was good and close to everything we needed. Free shuttle from airport was good and worked fine
The room was fine but tended to be hot. The hotel is air-conditioned, but the room was not. I had to request a floor fan which was provided.

Verified reviewThe hotel has a nice ambience and the staff are helpful.
The WiFi was not working for the most part. There’s a small bar across the street from the hotel that works 24/7 and makes it difficult for one to get a decent sleep even after midnight.

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly and hospitable. They were kind and flexible to accomodate my request within their acceptablity parameter. The location was great especially its proximity to the airport and the nearby shops and eateries.
Quality of the room is deteroriating from the first time I saw it. The room was very hot with no AC, though there was a fan it could be better with the AC. The breakfast was the not as I expected it to be. Lacked variety and freshness... particularly vergitable options

Verified reviewNice hotel, large rooms and pleasant staff. Airport shuttle reliable and good.
No hot water for showers. Breakfast very poor. Strangers knocking on my door at 11pm, very beauracratic staff and processes. Bought a water at the bar which cost 75 birr. Paid 100 birr cash and required three members of staff to process this somehow. Only allow foreigners to pay in usd not local birr which I took out before I arrived

Verified reviewA duty manager sort of listened to me and tried to take care of me after figuring out that I was unhappy.
I don't know why this hotel is rated high by booking. It's the worst possible hotel to receive guests. Sample a few things: 1. My shuttle didn't show up until i called. I had a local mobile and no luggage so I could call. But if you're a foreigner, good luck. 2. My room didn't have a kettle and stuff. Apparently I was given the room for transit passengers. The staff double checked and then gave me one. Only one bottle of water btw. I didn't want to spend another penny here so I bought water next door. 3. Bathroom was stinking of urine. The staff didn't come to clean it after several complains. The next day I managed to flag someone down and the first thing they wanted to know when I was checking out to see whether it would be worth cleaning. 4. When the guy came to fix the lamps, at first he was like there is plenty of light and do i really want the lamps to work? 5. The TV. Nobody could figure it out until the end. 6. Ordered room service. Half hour later the guy comes and says the food is ready but he will bring it only after I tell him whether I'm paying by cash. I was his hostage basically. You get the picture. After 10 days in ethiopia I thoguth the standard of service was high. Just compare to Jupiter where the staff went so far out of the way to help. But this hotel just didn't care for me as a guest. Take your business elsewhere I would say. Oh. There are lots of shops around the hotel and bars. I didn't check out anything. The location itself is called "unnamed road" so taxis might have some trouble.
