This was nice, the hotel was recently renovated, judging by the fittings. Big room with big bathroom, very quiet, plum my room had a microwave, kettle and fridge! (Available in the communal places also), plus a sauna and very early breakfast, it is more oriented toward business client as is opened in the Weekend on request, but still very nice hotel!

The place is like a ghost town literally nothing here 1 pizza place and a bar it was quite noisy above the cinema some loud random music at times blackout curtains not very good

No air conditioning. Beds were a bit too stiff for my likings. Lack of instructions for sauna and swimming pool usage.

The breakfast serving time was 7–9 am, which we felt it ends too early. However, the staff were flexible as indicated above. There was no freezer in the room. Also there were no plates for warming food in the microwave oven.

From the outside, the hotel wasn’t too impressive, but from the inside, no complaints there. The breakfast was exactly as others have mentioned in reviews: varied, many things to choose from, tasty. It did worry us that the bowls and pots in which the various things were in were quite small, and between two people we quickly emptied a small bowl containing some sort of a fruit salad. But it looked like they refilled them eventually as well. Breakfast was served 7–9 am, but some people joined breakfast at 9 am and it didn’t look like they were not hurrying to put the breakfast away: quite the opposite, the staff said that they will bring more. Rooms were clean, roomy enough, and the bathrooms were clean as well. One thing we maybe hoped there could have been more was things to hang clothes to dry from. The curtains did make the room effectively dark (enough) at night despite it being the brightest time of year in the middle of June. Some street noise was heard through the window, though. We don’t know if there was air conditioning or not, but there was a powerful portable fan provided in the room. The room also had a normal-sized refrigerator (not a tiny one), microwave oven, water kettle, and some tea, honey, instant coffee, creamer, sugar, hot chocolate powder, and mugs and spoons. The checkout time was at noon (12:00), but the staff was quite flexible with that (maybe this applies only during less booked times). Checking in was also arranged well during times the reception desk is not staffed. We only stayed for one night, and we didn’t check the pool or the sauna.

Breakfast was good but not great. Some steep stairs from the parking lot to the hotel.

The hotel has a lot of character and it has been well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the small side, but OK. Microwave and fridge in the room were very useful as there is a supermarket next to the hotel.

Checking in was a bit odd but easily done. (Reception was closed on Friday after 14h).

The breakfast was outstanding. There was a variety of different items and everything was fresh and tasty. Parking was easy and free. There is a very large supermarket right next to the hotel.

Room rate is quite expensive for a hotel with just basic facilities

Big and comfortable room, convenient location nearby shops. Breakfast was decent. We arrived in the evening, and since their restaurant is not opened, it was convenient to to go the supermarket to get some food and the room has a fridge and microwave oven

Being an old building there was no elevator and all the rooms were on the second floor. It was not an issue for us but could cause some trouble for elderly people.

The room was very clean an presumably renovated in recent years. Breakfast was excellent and variety allowed everyone to enjoy based on their liking or eating restrictions.

Oy was very clean and well isolated from noise. Also the staff was extremely friendly and helpful- they even helped us with our packages by carrying some of them to our floor. The breakfast was even better and offered a lot more variety than in any of the hotels with same price.

Toilet was too close to wall. Knees almost touch the wall and it was uncomfortable to sit.

Room was clean, bed too. There was a fridge and a microwave, and a big TV. Bed has 2 pillows. Bathroom have soap. Breakfast was ok.

It was a little difficult to get our two heavy suitcases up to the third floor. Reception closed before we got there, but it all worked out in the end.

It was the second time we stayed in this hotel and we will definitely stay there again if we get to Äänekoski. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable and breakfast is very good.
