How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Earlier check-in not possible as hotel booked out but had a luggage storage available
Close to the city center, 10mins walking, also at the subway station, nearby to shops and restaurants.

Our room was pretty big with two extra beds for the kids. The breakfast in the morning was really nice. A good choice!

While the hotel was fully booked, we couldn't leave our cases in the luggage room when we have had arrived earlier
Just a clean Hotel downtown the city, well located right nex to the metro entrance of Hakkanniemi station. The stuff was helpful and the rooms clean. We couldn't taste breakfast while leaving early in the morning. Thanks

- Booked a double bed room, got a twin room with the armchair folded into a third bed (= much less space in room). The receptionist only informed us after checkin with a superficial apology. Not worth arguing for 1 night - but this is bad service. - The location is in the city center but not super central.
- Ok for the price. Standard, plain hotel, older but well-kept. - Nice breakfast buffet. - Basic sauna - but quite nice, Finnish vibe.

The hotel has a perfect location and very kind, welcoming staff. My room was budget-friendly, which I fully expected, but I did miss having a few basics. Still, considering the price and the excellent location, it’s a good and convenient choice.

The hotel is a little tired and would need some TLC soon. Everything worked though.
Great location and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was also fantastic in the heat. We really enjoyed the good breakfast.

no kettle check in too late
The location is good about 10-15 mins enjoyable walk to city center. My room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. Bathroom has modern facilities with good size shower. The bed was very comfy and clean. AC was working perfectly. Wi-fi was strong but had some disconnections in my room. Breakfast was excellent with lots of selections and it was tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in is at 4 pm, I never experienced in any hotel, it’s too late and if you arrive earlier hotel charges you 20 euro. It was also good to have kettle in room or at least hot water be available free of charge. Snacks, tee and drinks are available to buy at reception.

Rooms need some deep cleaning or renovation. My window curtains were stained. Bathroom had broken pieces of ceramics (toilet, walls) Breakfast is good but super confusing. Maybe the room is too small for the size of the hotel, but everyday was a struggle to have a table (and I was alone). Also, I tried multiple hours (7.00 or 9.30) and the caos was the same
Nice staff. Good location of the hotel due to trams, metro and bus stations by the door.

I am short so I had no problem but some hallways with tilted wall may make harder for tall people to walk there (as a matter of fact, even though I am short, I bumped into these pillars once when I was not paying attention lol)
I really appreciated how attentive abd friendly the front desk people are! They deserve 5 stars.

Parking was difficult as there were road works all around the hotel
We had booked a room for 3 people but in our room the 3rd person sofa bed was not made. When we asked for bed linen we were instead upgraded to a ready made much nicer and bigger room.

Problems with the air ventilation/heating system, room was then switched, new room had little space so I couldn’t even properly open my suitcase
