Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNo in-room WIFI. This is a problem for many travelers, so I recommend extending your WIFI reach. This is a problem at other nearby hotels, too. Also, kind of early closing of public areas - there is no service desk (staff) open after maybe 9pm, or so - all locked up. Can be a problem for issues that arise after 9pm.
The site access was pretty decent, compared to some others nearby. The sign was lighted, which helped. The front desk check-in was super easy! Ready for us. Room was cooling as I arrived. Had a suitcase stand, desk and chair. Beds were OK. Nice, fresh decorations (tropical flowers) placed around. Towels were decent and proper sizes. Feels tropical inside cabin. Quiet; not much outside noise.

GermanyThe position of the Duku resort on the map is somewhat inaccurate, it is rather close to Savusavu town.
You have access to the sea via a tiny beach, but you better not expect any waves. There is a diving resort nearby, the Jean-Michel Cousteau (not on booking.com), just a 5min drive from Daku. You can learn to dive or, as an experienced diver, sign up for their diving for a day. It’s one of the best places to go diving in all of Fiji.

United StatesThe air conditioning was only in the bedrooms making the main area uncomfortable in the heat. Also our particular cottage was at the top of very long sets of stairs and I am unable to handle stairs easily. Once we settled in I did not leave the cottage at all because of this. I have had several back surgeries so that contributed to the situation.
The friendly staff and clean cottage.

Daku resort are self-contained Bungalows so has the privacy but has other guests not too far away, so you do not feel lonely or isolated. The staff are great and even though we got there by ferry in the early hours of the morning there were there to assist. George was absolutely wonderful and helpful. All staff were friendly and helpful.

FijiThe rooms are basic and good value for money. But expect basic as they soon will need a little maintenance.
Location is great and staff are so friendly. The food is delicious and fresh and such value for money. You can go snorkeling and kayaking right in front of the resort all free of charge and gear all avaliable.

AustraliaWe got to wait for another 20mns for the breakfast... They had to go and buy more bread and stuff... Not good.😡
I think they should be able to prepare a good breakfast. With my booking they knew I got a group and I've emailed them and also I called them a day before . But that mornIng we had to wait for eggs and baked beans... The coffee was not ready. That is the only downfall I experienced with them...

United StatesInconsistent service and a LOT of deferred maintenance. Pool water was murky. Safety rail was so rusted that it swayed dangerously when grasped. There were loose glass panes in the windows of our villa. Tour guide Joe was great but other staff was surly and inefficient. No one met our plane despite having our received a confirmation email and we had to pay for the taxi even though airport transfers were supposed to be included. Meals were ok, not great. Had to ask 3 times for toilet paper. There was only ONE (clogged) salt and pepper shaker to share amongst ALL guests during meals. It’s obvious that the owners do not train staff adequately or empower them to solve problems because the staff took no pride in doing their jobs well. Such a shame because the place is SO gorgeous.
Gorgeous grounds, well landscaped. We stayed in a 3-bedroom villa that was spacious and well ventilated. Appreciated the staff who kayaked near us in case we couldn’t handle the strong ocean currents the first time we swam but we never saw him on other days. Temperatures were mild in early August and it only rained at night. Highly recommend touring the adjacent cocoa farm and taking a trip to swim at the gorgeous waterfall.

AustraliaWe were quite disappointed with our stay at daku resort, our check in experience was really poor. The lady behind the check in desk seemed quite disinterested and even annoyed by our arrival. We were pointed where our room was, which was up two flights of stairs, and we were obviously struggling with our luggage and two small children but no help was offered. The resort itself is in desperate need of general maintenance, it almost looks like very little or no maintenance has been done in the last 20 years. The airconditioning in our room struggled to put out a bit of cold air, timber framing around door ways was rotting away and some furniture in our room was broken. Although lunch and dinner was great, breakfast was really disappointing, on Christmas morning it only consisted of some cereal, toast, peanut butter, jam, and a small plate of fresh fruit (none of the hot food as advertised on booking.com) We decided to leave after two days and stay at another resort close by and we had a great time there. We paid the same amount of money per night for a garden Bure there as we did at daku resort and the facilities and service were 200% better so in my opinion Daku resort is over priced.
The owners were lovely people and lunch and dinner was excellent The location of the property is great with it being close to town
