The cottage is amazing ! Jan is super helpful and friendly. The place is charming and had everything you need to cook, spend rainy days inside playing games, go out in the water. Location is really nice and calm, close to the city. There is even a Veggie garden you can use for mint and basil which were really tasty. We had an unforgettable stay at Gingerbread Cottage, nestled right in front of a stunning snorkelling hotspot and surrounded by lush, beautifully maintained gardens. The cottage itself was fully equipped with everything you could need — from board games and books to a lovely collection of music. Our hosts, Jan and Ian, were absolutely wonderful — warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. And a special shout-out to Jai, our fantastic taxi driver — friendly, reliable, and a great local connection- he offered to take us to an incredible waterfall, mud bath and lookout at a very affordable price. He also kindly took us to the airport for our next adventure. Beautiful spacious cottage. Very comfortable. Views of the sea through the foliage. Amazing location with some great snorkelling over the road and 20mins walk to split rock which more fabulous snorkelling. Easy to get taxis into Savusavu which had everything we needed. Just go to the road and wait. Kitchen facilities and clothes washing machine all great. Lovely hot shower. Jan and Ian were so helpful and kind. Made the stay a real treat. Would definitely stay again if back in the area. Thank you.

We had a fantastic stay at Gingerbread cottage. The cottage was clean, cosy, and beautifull unique which made it feel really special. Ian & Jan were great hosts. From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They really took the stress out of our travel and trip bookings including provision of snorkel gear and kayak! We would love to stay here again!

All was perfect, but think about bringing insect repellant for kitchen and garden. Mosquitos ate us alive 😂 but i guess it applies to all Fiji during wet season.

The cottage is big and really lovely ( the bathroom is so cool and the VIEW). We had a great time, it is peaceful there. Even with some rain, you'll find something to do, as there are books, board games and movies to watch. Jan is really thoughtful, we had everything we needed: mosquito coil, ear plugs, washing machine, coffee and tea, kayak and a book with all useful information about houserules and the area ✅️ She also arranged a dive for us last minute, which was greatly appreciated.

On the day we were checking out, at around 8am, the male caretaker unexpectedly entered through the kitchen door while we were still in bed, which felt like an invasion of privacy. He came in to ask what time we were leaving because another guest was arriving at 12, but this wasn’t our responsibility to sort out, as our agreed checkout time was 10-11am. A simple message through the app or a phone call would have been a more appropriate way to communicate and find out whether we had left. This was uncomfortable, and we hope the management takes steps to respect guests’ privacy in the future.

It was a beautiful cottage ; secluded and away from the town area . The neighborhood is very peaceful, and you're right by the seashore . Cottage has a wonderful layout with a lot of natural lighting and ventilation. Kitchen was fully furnished with a fridge microwave electric frying pan and toaster with 4 burner stove and oven.

The shower temperature was a little variable, but really, the climate is so warm that a cool shower does the job anyway. Some puppy noise in the early mornings, which didn't bother me at all, and ear plugs were provided for this - the pups are delightful and will soon be going to their forever homes.

Lovely location with relatively easy access to town by bus or taxi. Just across the road from a small beach and swimming. Easy 1.5 km walk to a superb snorkeling location at Split Rock. Jan was very helpful and friendly.

The cottage is in a suburban area and light sleepers may be troubled by dogs barking from time to time .. but that’s just part of Fiji.

Clean, organised spacious for up to 4 people. Across the road is a good little beach with some corals. Walking distance (approx 1km) to the Jacque Cousteau resort if you like scuba diving. The cottage is homely with everything available. Taxis and buses pass regularly to take you to the village..very convenient.

I loved everything about this property. The owner Jan, was so lovely and so helpful. It overlooking the beach, a great snorkelling spot, just 1 min across the road. Stunning property. The place had so many CDs, books and board games, great entertainment.

We especially loved how well equipped this cottage is - everything you need and more has been thought of. Views were beautiful and there is easy snorkelling across the road. Very convenient to the town centre, approx 5km which is under $10 FJD in a taxi. We were so impressed 💜

My 9 year old son said this was the coolest and most beautiful house he has ever stayed in. It was an absolute delight to stay here and be so well hosted and looked after. We could snorkel right infront of the house, and the walk to the beach before the Cousteau resort was a dream, with all the big trees and views on to the bay. The house was very well equipped and there were many games and things to occupy our 4 and 9 year old boys. The view from the kitchen dining area is stunning.

I must point out that there are steep steps up to the cottage, but if you have a moderate fitness level it won't be a problem. It is really worth the journey Beautiful place

This is not a complaint but a suggestion. We hired a car which we found necessary as the accommodation is a few kilometres out of Savusavu.

The view from the Gingerbread Cottage is absolutely stunning. The snorkelling at the front of the property is amazing. Iridescent fish in pristine water.
