Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaHave to pay to see coral on other side of island from boat. We were there in the windy season so not hot. Good thing we brought our sleeping bags as it got chilly at night. Generally speaking in my opinion the Yasawas are overrated. The Yasawa Flyer has a monopoly on how you get there. At the famous Blue Look Lagoon Beach on nearby Nanyua Island the fish are fed by guide. Too many boats and tourists. No coral. Not a natural experience. To have coral at your feet and amazing food, lovely accomodations you have to stay at an expensive resort. Even then not guaranteed. Dorm rooms are an option. If you stay at a homestay don't expect luxury. Long Beach is not a resort. Expect basic and rustic. The upside is always the Fijian people. Friendly and smiling.. Nicky was very helpful and a really good asset for Long Beach Escape. I will miss Nicky.
The beach and sand was nice at high tide. Lovely white sand.

United KingdomThe room we were in could do with a bit of a refresh as the showers were a bit dirty, and beds slightly uncomfortable. We weren’t expecting anything luxurious so this was fine for three nights. Swimming was limited to low tide from the beach, although you could walk across the coral if you wanted to swim at low tide.
Staff were fantastic, very helpful and incredibly friendly - made us feel like we were friends or family visiting. I think this makes the experience! The activities were also good and food was usually made with local ingredients and included traditional Fijian foods. We were also only a few steps away from a beautiful sandy beach.

AustraliaBeach is pristine, but swimming not easy at low tide, as the reef quite a feature of this bay. Also, the water pressure for shower was very poor in our bure, and bathroom could do with a good scrub. But these are small negatives in an otherwise enjoyable and good-value stay in a beautiful place.
Comfortable and charmingly-decorated beachfront bure, electricity until 10-pm or later, and excellent and varied food from chef Samantha, who brings flair and originality to home-style meals. Friendly vibe. Enjoyed having a table on the bure verandah (not just chairs).

IrelandRooms dated and mattresses thin. Electricity only available at certain times but that added to the rustic experience. Bring cash
Extremely quiet spot with only a handful of rooms. There was only 1 other couple there during our 2 nights. You have the whole beach to yourself. Staff were a big part of the trip. Couldn’t recommend spear fishing at night more. One of my all time favourite memories. Ring making and trips to the caves also recommended. Food was traditional and tasty. Accommodated pescatarians.

AustraliaWe really liked the connection between the family and their guests, you‘re really included and they are super friendly, funny and helpful if you ever need anything. They let you experience the Fijian culture and let you get an authentic insight in the life on Fiji Islands. If you’re planing on staying here, you definitely have to go snorkeling (40F$) at the Blue Lagoon, the fish variety is amazing! The stay itself is definitely not something for fancy resort visitors but if you‘re open for an authentic experience and get to know the people who live here, it‘s just the right thing for you and you will definitely have a great time! (and learn how to open a coconut by yourself!)

New ZealandIt was very windy when we were there and we couldn't go to Blue Lagoon for a snorkel even. The place is under semi-reconstruction, it was only 6 of us at the escape. We should have a front beach bure, but when we got there, we got the garden house, which was tucked a bit in the back and it was quite dark. The facility in the room wasn't flash, I suspect, this cottage too will have to be renovated once. There are no mosquito nets, unfortunately, so the sleep was poor. The family is around all day, but we felt a bit like on a deserted island. The beach is long and, yes, looking beautiful, from the top of the mountain, but no snorkeling, very shallow waters, and no reef. And again, the wind might be quite common in this area for its position, so a strong current for swimming.
It was an island with almost no reception, a great time to grab a book and read all day long. There is a short hike with an amazing view. Thank you, family, for hosting us. Great food.

IsraelThe place has great potential but there is electricity only 4 hours a day, the water in the shower is salty, there is no lock in the room, and there is no internet even though it was written that it was. The place is a bit run down and tired. When I complained to the owner of the place he did not answer my message at all until now. The workers at the place tried to help ...but the place is not worth the money.
The island is beautifull and quite.

New ZealandPower is only turned on from 6-11pm (so forget about buying a cold beer during the day). There is no wifi. There are no other accommodations nearby to meet other travelers, and this accommodation only hosts about 6 people per day. The most unsatisfying part of the stay was upon leaving, we paid for our meals ($55pp/day - compulsory), activities and beers. Then the older woman working there asked us for money for the small boat to take us to the ferry. We told her that we were confused because that was never mentioned before. Then she changed her wording to say it's a tip for the men driving the small boat. I said that they were going to the ferry anyways to sell the fish they caught. Then she changed her words again saying that the accommodation doesn't recommend this tip, but sometimes people come to Fiji with a lot of money so that's their chance to give it to locals. It was weird and it made me want to leave. For sketchy reasons (and other events) I wouldn't recommend this accommodation. If I could redo my travels based on what I know now, I would have skipped this island altogether
Beautiful beach and nice little village tour (paid). 2 of the young staff members really made our stay a better experience - without Kini and her boyfriend there, I would have a very negative review. I don't think they work there permanently, so we were lucky to have them around. Kini is a great cook and really lovely to chat with, her boyfriend is friendly & funny, great person to ask Fiji travel tips from. The meals were all very local and very tasty. The gardens are tidy and there are plenty of coconut trees and mango trees around. Writing this review from home, I miss the fresh mangos!

AustraliaMy rating is based on having money taken from our family room (doors do not have locks). I contacted the property to inform them of my son’s missing cash and did not receive a response. They then informed Booking.com that we hadn’t stayed, which was ludicrous. I understand that these things can happen however the response, doors not locking and as our room wasn’t serviced and my son had wrapped his wallet in clothing in his bag was a concern. I would stay again in the Yasawa islands not at this facility.
The location and meals were lovely

CroatiaThe beach is not swimmable at low tide, which is most of the day (except in the morning and evening) and even then very shallow. The beds were very uncomfortable (just basic sponges put on hard metal beams), the food very basic (a bare minimum, mostly rice, no desserts). The room and especially the bathroom were not well maintained and there was no warm water in the showers (it's more like camping). The staff behaved decently, but did not put any special/extra effort to making the stay better.
The location was great - you feel isolated, in the middle of nature. There is a local village nearby which is great for a visit. The island looks beautiful.

United KingdomThe beach in front of the property is very windy, making it very uncomfortable to stay there. It is also rather ugly beach. The rooms are not well kept - very old, dirty, full of bugs and cockroaches. On to the staff - they were barely there. They would cook for you and then disappear the whole day. We once had agreed to go to the village, they never appeared as we had agreed. If you want a local experience, Fiji has much better guesthouses than this. Would not recommend to anyone
Nothing much
