Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe food was good but after 2 days, it felt like it was always the same. However, you dont have a mandatory meal plan, you can bring your own food and go buy at the small supermarket. And its also super cheap!
I had the best time! If you want to experience the real Fiji (not the fancy resorts where you are just a number) but not ready for a homestay, this is a great place. Own by Fijians, they make you feel home. Perfect to see the caves and the blue lagoon. A special thank you to Sefo and Jo, who went an extra mile to welcome us, with a kava night with guitar in the background and taught us everything about coconut, from climbing the trees to making coconut milk. Also, the 2 kids Caroline and Tim were so cute to play with- and they are so clever! And the pets adopt you straight away!

CanadaToo much cash handling (and complicated if you didn’t have exact change); I would have wished for a better tab system. Breakfasts were a bit scant.
Beautiful beach, effort put into plastic clean up, lovely staff. Great lunches and dinners. Good value for price.

New ZealandThe food was a bit repetitive. Chicken stew for most for the meals. It would have good to have a bit more variety, especially for the kids. But it was Ok. It would have been great to have hot water in a flask available for cups of tea\coffee during day for us to help ourselves too.
Safe landings was accurately described and met what we were expecting. The staff were friendly and the activities available great. It helped having some people there that had been staying for a few weeks to share the best snorkelling spots.

AustraliaIf you rent snorkelling gear, just give it a test run before you go, one of the snorkels was dodgy.
The staff marvellous. Great hosts. Plenty of optional paid activities but no pressure to do them. Some free activities. The food is acceptable and filling and relatively well priced. The communal meals with other travellers and great views are fantastic, we met some great people from around the world. Every night there was a good reason to socialize with Jo or Sefo and Egy who integrated us into their traditions. They made us feel right at home and have great senses of humour. The beach and island are so beautiful. Don't expect a full on resort (this is disclosed when you book) but we loved it and did not want to leave!

FranceThe houses have to be a little be renovated but i'm pretty sire in few months you'll have a very nice lodge.
It's a wonderful Family place to stay for few days. The staff members are amazing. Very available and ready to help. The landscape is like paradise. Very natural. Lot of spots for snorkelling, hiking, chilling, fishing. The water is very transparent...and you Can even see some sharks or turtles. The houses are very basics but for the time you stay inside its more than enough. WE came there with our 7 months baby and she was more than happy. The food is very good and tasty. Vinaka vakalevu for the welcoming and for the lovely place to stay for our family.

United KingdomNo reef for snorkelling, however the beach itself was very nice. Small improvements could be made to the room e.g shower head was broken as well as some mosquito nets/windows, however we understand that the owners are doing their best following the impact of covid etc. lots of mosquitos here, but this is not the fault of the property!
A very simple place with a family feel. The staff were welcoming and do their best to accommodate. They all worked really hard, even the owners son who played guitar for us during dinner. While we stayed there was a mix of veggie, vegan and meat eaters and they catered for everyone. Relaxing and quiet, good to unwind. We got a coconut made for us which was lovely. Dinner was pretty good. The beach was lovely. For the price this place is very good

AustraliaSafe Landing is owned and run by a friendly local family. My family (2ad, 2ch) had a good stay in a basic Bure. There’s some maintenance required, but keep in mind the location is very remote. The low price is appropriate. A small quiet resort, nice and close for a cave tour. A variety of activities run by friendly staff - snorkelling trip, village tour, weaving. Food was good. We felt very welcome. Thank you for having us!

New ZealandStaff were friendly and helped with all our requests, but other than that there was minimal interaction from staff with the guests.

New ZealandThe proximity of the beach meant sand crept into our room during the day, a broom would have been helpful.
All meals over the week we stayed were delicious, well presented and satisfying. Locally produced vegetables were incorporated into meals, as was freshly caught seafood. The location of our room was exceptional, within a few steps of the beach and the sea. There were plenty of opportunities to explore the beautiful coastline and country. Our hosts were genuinely helpful, generous, friendly and interested in us as visitors. Conversation flowed naturally and freely. Safe Landing offers an authentic experience for visitors as it sits between the resort world and village life. Free activities were offered such as a medicinal plants tour and Church service visit.

SpainWhat I didn’t like was our room. All the other rooms were nice and meeting anyones expectations. But ours, it wasn’t very cleaned, the bathroom was really poor, and one window didn’t have mosquito net so at night was mosquito party :(
We loved the location, the activities next to the reef were awesome! Sephor, one of the workers there was really nice with all of us showing us the cava ceremony, some fijian songs, how to open coconuts and make coconut smoothie!

AustraliaThe remoteness & beauty of this property is exactly what I was looking for. Water this colour & clarity should be illegal 🤩 The rooms are simple and undergoing gradual improvement after some economic & weather crisis. I can look past some timber rot & holes in the bathroom roof when the conditions outside are this perfect. We took full advantage of all the activities offered here and went to the caves, blue lagoon & reef hop snorkelling trips. All were fantastic but a ladder to get back in the boat from the reef hop would be required for all but the fittest specimens. We struggled but managed with some hilarity & bruises. We met some wonderful people on these outings & across the table at meal times. The snorkelling is epic in this region (take your own gear if you can) Things to note: there are no shops, no bars, no ice. so if you want snacks or drinks take them with you. The only thing available outside of the meal plan is the occasional coconut which goes well with some duty free rum if you’re that way inclined. The meal plan is simple food & will keep you alive but is no foodie haven, keep your expectations on that keel & you won’t be disappointed. Remember that refrigeration is a luxury out here so a lot of food needs to be dry stored & the meals reflect that. Rice, potato, breadfruit, cabbage, tomato based flavours, flour based homemade cakes, bread’s & pancakes, etc. Meats are of course refrigerated correctly (powered by generators) and we had a health inspector doing the rounds & eating with us during our stay. When you stay here remember you are directly contributing to the local economy & supporting local businesses & families. It’s freakin paradise people, take it as you find it.

SwitzerlandWould have loved to have chairs or something on the porch. There is no reef for snorkelling just from the beach.
Safe Landing Lodge was a very welcoming place with amazing staff and great food. Our bure was right at the beach with a beautiful view. It was very basic but had everything we needed. The common area where the food was served also has an amazing view. The food was great fijian cuisine with veggie options. There were a lot of activities that could be booked, we did the trip to the caves and it was amazing.

United StatesWater was often missing or down to a trickle. No fan in our room. But we were out in the water looking at beautiful sealife so not a huge issue. Other travellers were struggling with these issues. Also, if you are prepared for safe landing (ie have snacks, lots of drinking water or your own decent snorkelling gear) then it is a very pleasant experience.
Safe Landing is in a great spot and the staff are authentic and genuinely caring. We shared some very special moments over kava with the locals and sharing fishing stories. Food was nice and good value for money. Bonus was the curious and friendly local dogs. Coco in particular came along for night walks on the beach where she displayed her crab catching abilities. She was a continuous source of joy during our stay. Organising tours was a bit trickier and we didnt know what was happening when. Also, our luggage got accidentally mixed up with those who were leaving by the staff, so be careful. Everything was returned the next day, but it was stressful to go through this, especially since communication isnt that direct in the Fijian way of life. To make up for it, the staff gave us clothes to wear for the day which were bright and comfortable :-)

AustraliaThe lodge is still recovering from the impacts of Covid, however the staff are beyond accommodating and will do everything they can to ‘fix’ any issues you have. As an example the main lights and fans don’t work in the rooms yet. However when we mentioned it they immediately found a pedestal fan for us. The showers are not draining immediately and there was a hole in our roof. It is obvious to see that Safe Landing are making repairs and ‘rebuilding’. We would definitely stay here again, but would also like to be honest about the current state of the accomodation. It didn’t bother us 😊.
The location is gorgeous and the staff make you feel really comfortable and are very hospitable. They are accomodating and want you to feel at home. The meals were also nice and it was great that there was no set meal plan.
